read a good letter
a few days ago
it was published in a magazine
part of the letter was this-

"One of the questions emerging from
the Iraq debacle must be this one;
Why did liberation at gunpoint yield
results that differed so radically from
what the wars advocates had expected?
Or, to sharpen the point, How did preventative
was undertaken by ostensibly the strongest
military in history produce a cataclysm?
Not one of your colleagues from the Bush
 Administration possesses the honesty,
courage and wit to answer these questions"
from "a letter to Paul Wolfowitz"
by andrew j bacevich author of
"The new American militarism:
how Americans are seduced by war"

i listen to the radio every day
until the news of war just brings me down

the swallows look beautiful as they swoop
and dive at the bugs in the garden
very nice

"Scientists proposed that male lions skill at
ambushing prey in dense vegetation
was previously unknown because
of scientists fear
of being ambushed by male lions
in dense vegetation."

"I cannot say that our country..."

"I cannot say that our country could have no
secret police without becoming totalitarian,
but I can say with great conviction that it
cannot become totalitarian without a centralized
national police."  Robert H. Jackson
