"If a madman were to come into this room..."

so i thought i would write to the laptop and deposit it in the blog....after much consultation with the librarian it got moved from the SD memory card to the blog...not any faster however...but i am not discouraged as now i have a story to tell and i need to get it told before i am another cancer death...productivity is much less as a dead person....i have heard some recent info about how much money has been raised for Mr. Penny and it is $3million...i also heard an interview with a woman who said that no matter how much money was raised she considers Mr Neely to have been murdered...but i think she was a racist...one of the things that i find rather unfortunate is that NPR seems to gerrymander the news and not report facts about Mr. Neelys violent drug addict past...he may have been better able to handle reality if he had not spent so much time being a Michael Jackson impersonator...

"The most pernicious..."

my friend the coyote came around and visited a few nights ago

however there was no sign of coyote last night...there was a gunshot last night after dark so maybe the so called VARMIT  hunters came around to shoot them varmints...a man was killed by a black bear  in arizona a few days ago...of course then the bear was gunned down...i have yet to see a bear around here...

so i picked up a DVD about the Titanic wreck last month and watched all the documentaries they had...it seems the band was playing "a closer walk with thee" as the ship sank...i think some people have a Bucket list of things they want to do before they die...like climbing Everest, rafting the colorado river...seeing the Titanic etc...i think the five  lost  submarine people should be singing "My bucket has a hole in it" as they wait for rescue...or not...

i seem to have got on the poop list of some people for...who knows what for!...how ever i must continue to relate what i think about the current state of affairs despite the harassment....soooo....i was listening to the radio and heard an interview with a "black trans woman" who was very interested in "Ballroom"  in New York...AND! she is very upset that Madonna has "appropriated"...something i am not sure what....certainly it is not their money...AND ! this "black trans woman" hates ...HATES! capitalism....well i started to think what non-capitalist country would welcome her with open arms...NONE...they would have her thrown in the dungeon or shot or sent to the gulag...no this "black trans woman" had better thank her lucky stars that she is in a nice capialist country like the USA...and Madonna don't want nuthin you got nohow girl!

so they confiscated 66 thousand pounds of shark fins in Brazil that was headed to "the orient"...soooo....it seems to me like they should take some of that confiscated Phentenol  and spray it on those shark fins and let them go to the eastern countries that crave endangered species...serves em right! they would be "VERGELTUNGSWAFFE"...

"In science, the consequences of understanding..."

                                             not written in stone
obsidian flakes from the former tool makers
suffering through barbequed ribs, black beans and toasted bread

i keep hearing about the consequences of "AI" possibly bringing the extinction of the human species...now i don't me to be overly harsh but the possibility of humans going extinct with AI is...well i don't think the odds makers in vegas would give us even odds for surviving ,,,i figure extinction is pretty well assured...however if you had a team of competent programmers putting in all the information 24/7/365 HAL would pretty much allow most of the humans to "effect their migration" so to speak...i figure AI is the only hope of any humans surviving as the big crunch comes...I read an article about a woman who is an geologist i think or maybe a paleo-biologist and she thinks the dinosaurs went extinct because of volcanos over around India pooting out poisonous gases for a long time...hers is not a popular theory...but she maintains that the same poisons that killed off so many species humans are putting into the environment even as we speak...yep AI ain't going to kill humans, humans are doing a fine job of it.

i watched another Audrey Hepburn movie..."My Fair Lady" loved the movie but not the ending...she should have said "get you own damned slippers!"  another case of a movie not being relevant in todays society...

the presidential election is bringing a lot of expectant candidates into public notice...WOKE? can we get a definition of this term? christy is pissed cause donald tried to make him his "bitch" and now this jersey street fighter is going to give him a taste of his own medicine...i was thinking about the last election and the one before....there were a lot more bumper stickers t-shirts for trump than for the democratic candidate...if the democrat's don't at least put their candidate out there for the "citizens" to think about they are going to lose again...How about "TRUMP FOR PRISON"...has a nice ring to it...

"In science, the consequences of understanding are often unpredictable. A year after neutrons were discovered in 1932, a Hungarian American physicist named Leo Szilard was waiting to cross the street in London. As the light turned green, he saw how one might use the new particle to start a chain reaction. He took a step, and his mind reeled"  from "The Final Frontier" James Somers (new yorker-3/7/22) about developments in cell biology and synthesizing cells from non-living parts.

"We have a word for difficult..."

return of the horned lizards after a two year absence...perhaps not the same individual...hunting ants

"DAM!" the russian military seems to have paid a high price to wash away their incompetence...listening to the reasons why the USA has a lower credit rating...the rating agency said it was due to "A STEADY DETERIORATON IN GOVERNANCE OVER THE LAST 15 YEARS." quoted by professor Kai 5/2/23 twice... i was noticing some poor governance also...

so the wildlife in the neighborhood seems to be somewhat scarcer than in years past but the i did see the horned lizards, two species of chipmunk, a coyote, a kaibab squirrel, and the cattle returned and the grass is pretty tall and there is still water in the stock pond...

i can empathize with the east coast smoke breathers  since the fires around this area are being left to burn to eliminate some fuel...but the smoke is still pretty bad...

picked up a Budd Boetticher/ Randolph Scott collection of 5 westerns a while back...one of the DVDs has a documentary about the director Boetticher who went to mexico in his yellow Lasalle automobile during a break from college...he got interested in bull fighting and ended up studying the "sport"...there is some commentary by a Mr. Q. Tarantino, who is a big fan of this director...i wish he would do more movie commentaries...i picked up a copy of the movie "Pulp Fiction" last week for a buck and thought i had seen it but i was mistaken...I was pleasantly surprised at how much i enjoyed the flick...i think the dialogue was superb...i read some other comments about the movie and i was not alone in my appreciation for the movie...i especially related to the character Jimmie and his need for gormet coffee... all of the actors were at the top of their form and the movie excelled for it...back to Boetticher...there is a movie he directed called "Decision at Sundown" which i think illustrates the fact that as movies age the moral and ethical world that they were created in evolves...i will not spoil the ending for others but the "revenge" motive is made moot and the suicide seems highly un-needed when viewed in the light of todays different world view...

"China has enough..."

video of a flicker (red shafted) and the other is a video of an unidentified large thing moving fast

i think the musk mellon has done the right thing to try to keep an open dialogue with the Chinese government. every time i go into the dollar store i think "we don't need all this plastic crap!"...but there is other stuff that china has that we could learn from...when i pick up trash i see a lot of Styrofoam AKA polystyrene...i  read that in china there is a company that makes a product from bagasse  that is a lot like Styrofoam...bagasse is what is left over when you squeeze the juice out of sugarcane...unless things have changed a lot since the last time i was in Louisiana there is a lot of bagasse there...but the incentive to make use of it is lacking...

the big scare this month is ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE...what scares a lot of people about artificial intelligence is that it would make it much harder to cheat the government out of money...we don't need to increase taxes in this country we need to stop the people who  (to quote Obama) GAME THE SYSTEM... you cannot fly a modern airplane without computers to keep all the systems monitored...you cannot EFFECIENTLY run a large business (or a large country) unless the numbers are plugged into the system...the human species may indeed become extinct but it will not be because HAL killed us off it will be because the human inhabitants choose not to use the technology that was available to increase efficiency...the NEO-LUDDITES who fear computer technology and artificial intelligence (it should be called ENHANCED intelligence) allowed some people to become too rich and others too impoverished...and even if the earth becomes un-inhabitable to humans there will undoubtedly be life which will continue to exist and evolve...and the the electronics will self-evolve too

I am not a big listener of "hip hop" as a genre of entertainment...however i recently heard some Iraqi rappers who use the genre to express much discontent with the authoritarian government in the their country (they had to leave the country to express their ideas) what i hear of american rap today does not seem to have the bite it used to have in the beginning...too much bling...

i did hear a great song on the radio by a ms savage called "If I were a fish"  makes you want to sing along...
