"In science, the consequences of understanding..."

                                             not written in stone
obsidian flakes from the former tool makers
suffering through barbequed ribs, black beans and toasted bread

i keep hearing about the consequences of "AI" possibly bringing the extinction of the human species...now i don't me to be overly harsh but the possibility of humans going extinct with AI is...well i don't think the odds makers in vegas would give us even odds for surviving ,,,i figure extinction is pretty well assured...however if you had a team of competent programmers putting in all the information 24/7/365 HAL would pretty much allow most of the humans to "effect their migration" so to speak...i figure AI is the only hope of any humans surviving as the big crunch comes...I read an article about a woman who is an geologist i think or maybe a paleo-biologist and she thinks the dinosaurs went extinct because of volcanos over around India pooting out poisonous gases for a long time...hers is not a popular theory...but she maintains that the same poisons that killed off so many species humans are putting into the environment even as we speak...yep AI ain't going to kill humans, humans are doing a fine job of it.

i watched another Audrey Hepburn movie..."My Fair Lady" loved the movie but not the ending...she should have said "get you own damned slippers!"  another case of a movie not being relevant in todays society...

the presidential election is bringing a lot of expectant candidates into public notice...WOKE? can we get a definition of this term? christy is pissed cause donald tried to make him his "bitch" and now this jersey street fighter is going to give him a taste of his own medicine...i was thinking about the last election and the one before....there were a lot more bumper stickers t-shirts for trump than for the democratic candidate...if the democrat's don't at least put their candidate out there for the "citizens" to think about they are going to lose again...How about "TRUMP FOR PRISON"...has a nice ring to it...

"In science, the consequences of understanding are often unpredictable. A year after neutrons were discovered in 1932, a Hungarian American physicist named Leo Szilard was waiting to cross the street in London. As the light turned green, he saw how one might use the new particle to start a chain reaction. He took a step, and his mind reeled"  from "The Final Frontier" James Somers (new yorker-3/7/22) about developments in cell biology and synthesizing cells from non-living parts.
