"The worst thing..."

here are a couple of books that seek to illustrate women in societies

the notion that women who sell sex are soiled may be a self fulfilling prophesy...as the book on the history of prostitution points out much of the hardships endured by these the women was inflicted by a society that felt the need to condemn these people to the extent that their place of residence and work was severely restricted...as for beauty...well it is certainly in the eye of the beholder..."nothing made the horse so fat as the kings eye..." there is a very good YouTube presentation by a psychologist named Orion Taraban called 'psychacks"...this fellow has a bunch of explanations (according to himself) about mens and women relationships...some (most) of his views are not mainstream...as is usually the case much information about sex is filtered through a non-approving society so any information that is unrestricted is valuable...I realized that aella the statistician/sex worker has many detractors when my writing about her was deleted...I have seen lots of porn so that aspect of her "web-presence" did not interest me much...however since she was actively engaged in sex work and just as actively engaged in confronting that society which unjustly condems her I took the time to find some of her writing..."The eternal tao might be an asshole" is a well crafted parable about finding "enlightenment" by following other peoples methods (like digging holes in the ground"...she mentions Alan Watts alcoholism which undoubtedly shortened his life and probably blunted his intellect...but so much for flawed humans...I sort of see aella as the sex worker equivalent of Huckleberry Finn..."not just anybody can paint this fence"...a good YouTube animal presentation that I saw is "Rakar Katen the cat"... good video...not all cats are created equal..."The worst thing that an old man can be, is a lover". "The most happy persons..."

this appears to be some flavor of rock squirrel...but it does not look like anything in any of my field guides...
porcupine spine....and skull and lower jaw....

trees trimmed...more grass...fatter cattle....silva grazing

mushy blob fungi in pine tree stump
mushy blob fungi sliced open...uniform consistency throughout....
fungi on the side of a pine stump...exterior has hardened into a protective skin

exterior skin pulled back to reveal what appears to be spores....fungi are amazing earthlings!

got a covid shot last week...much pain the next day and nightmares...i watched some interesting stuff on youtube this week...i highly recommend looking at a couple of the short presentations about the "OVERTON WINDOW" named for joseph overton....this window seems to be in action even as we speak...dr. andrew huberman has a good interview with a d.c. heller about "cold exercise" which if properly undertaken can increase muscle-mass more efficiently than without cold...dr huberman is noticeably excited...he likes big muscles....especially his own....i came across some music that i had never seen before...COLT CLARK AND THE FAMILY CREATIVE...mr colt clark is a professional musician and during the covid lockdown 4 years ago he did not work and rather than letting his skills get rusty he enrolled his three children into a band...the kids are Belamy female vocals, keyboard, and rattle thingys (was 5 years old when band began) all of the rolling stones tunes come with a lot of " mick moves"...poochy lips and strutting etc....great stuff AND some of the best chair jumps ever...look out TAYLOR!...the drummer is Beckett and he gets better and better...shows some real talent...the guitar is Cash...he also shows much improvement....between cuddle buddies and the clark family band i can get through the day without going into "impissated gloom"...i also watched a very depressing video called "these sisters were crying over a puppy-then this happens.'...this short piece consists of two little girls crying in the back seat of their car because the puppy they had just met in the local animal shelter was left behind...after too much time of little girls crying the dad appears with the pound puppy...anything for more likes!..i can live without this kind of drama!....

"the most powerful army in the world..."

i am going to attempt to write some of the material i had in yesterdays disappeared blog and see if it also gets "cancelled"...i thought about what it is that could have caused this severe reaction to my writing and i came to no certain answer..BUT! i wrote about a person who is indeed controversial and not a historic character but alive and kicking...she is an unapologetic sex worker and statistician of some renown...i was introduced to her for the first time in dr. lex fridmans interview #358 (4 hours) ...a very interesting encounter on several levels...she also has a very good more recent interview with joshua citarella of doom scroll...she refers to herself as a "whorelord"...whatever, i agree with much of her views but my world view is very much influenced by more than a decade as a zookeeper...most people see themselves as humans when i think a more honest and compassionate worldview would be for humans to view themselves as "EARTHLINGS" along with all the other creatures on planet EARTH...i used to disparage of those folks who spoke of people being "speciesist" and like anyone who disparages of that group other than there own the "others" suffer at the hands of the dominant group...some of the better  youtube presentations i watched recently were dr. lex fridmans # 475 with dr. demis hassabis (2 hours 28 minutes) also Dr robert sapolsky has a good informative presentation (#72) with his "offspring" Rachel entitled "mother versus fathers" which explains the rather complex genetics inherited by offspring...people have 49% father genes and 51% mother genes...and one of the most informative youtube presentations i have ever watched was by dr. andrew huberman and dr. nirao shah who both work at stanford university (as does dr. sapolsky)..."male versus female brain differences" (2 hours and 26 min) which explains in understandable detail the multitude of molecular reasons why people are not born just boys or girls...the trans-sexual issues are much more understandable with these learned explanations...i also watched a good movie available online "Dead Fall" (1968) with michael caine...the cinematography was by gerry turpin and the editing was by john jympson...both were excellent ( i am assuming that the credit for "photography" is the same as the cinematography)...i also watched part of the dvd collection "Introduction to Paleontology (smithsonian 2016) by prof, stuart sutherland...i keep hearing about the "hard problem of consciousness" when i think we should spend more time contemplating the "problem of hard consciousness"...the human species seems hell bent on mass murder...150,000 dead from the ongoing conflict in sudan...but they don't get too much air-time...the other thing that makes my "world-view" somewhat different from many others is the "medicine" that deprives me of most of my testosterone...this makes my focus much less intensely "sexual" than most male mammals...quite an interesting way to view the world...i feel much less vulnerable to seduction on many levels..."the most powerful army in the world can do nothing against the universal guerilla action " chou en-lai...this is my argument against this mindset...constant unrelenting conflict is bullshit and deprives the people involved of a life immersed in co-operation and love...and yet it is happening all over the world...don't get caught up in that net of sorrow...

here we go again..."if the divine will..."

an attempt to see is i still have a blog or if i have been cancelled...this part seems to have been made to run the gauntlet of censure...while i put a lot of energy into the blog from last night i realize now that i am not immune from online violence...moreover i can see how easy it is for a person like me to be completely removed from any contact with anyone by the efforts of those who embrace totalitarian and authoritarian ideas and practices...i assumed that the intense attention that i have received would not result in my personal danger but i was wrong...much to many peoples puzzlement i have never made a nickle from my writing or my photography...first of all when i started this blog to avoid the students in the library from hacking my e-mails to my brother...and also i had been inspired by compulsive desire to scribble as they say...mr teatsqueezer grew organically from my muse and grew into a full blow character...he was the character that most intrigued some of the younger readers...when a small child ran up to me in the library wide eyed and expectant i realized that i had assumed some responsibility for the character of mr. teatsqueezer...who in the imaginations of these children was ME!...anyhow i i was told that i should monetize my characters and i knew from my own personal experiences that some children do not have any financial resources at all...when i was in about the first or second grade in elementary school my teacher decided that since there was a coke machine in the teachers lounge we should all be able to get a cold coke for a nickel...but some of the kids did not have a nickle and from that memory i decided that selling anything to children will eliminate some of them from the experience...i have been perfectly content to write without financial reward but i will not accept censure as something i must endure to write...also i know that when money enters into any transaction the dynamic of that relationship changes...i have tried to be sensitive to the minds of those who are impressionable and i do not believe that my writing has damaged any young minds...but i believe some of my writing could have been modified to be less "controversial"...i have heard people say that i am a writer and a photographer...i do both of those things...but i still like to think of myself as a "poet/philosopher"...yeah right! it is increasingly apparent to me that my writing has upset some people to the extent that they are willing to do me bodily harm...i can very easily see myself ending up as the poet Lorca, dragged from his home and shot by a mindless military... "There is a time for departure..."

truth in advertising bumper sticker...after listening to the so called "senior moment" which deprived senator J. Kennedy of his speech for a few seconds during a recorded comment it seems to me that when you have a government composed of elderly people you can expect such lapses...it is during the supposedly lucid moments which still spawn drival that concern me...in britan they are going to allow 16 year olds to vote...way before the maturation of the pre-frontal cortex...which will be worse people before they are ready or people who are past good judgement...i last voted when bill clinton was on the ballot...or was it jimmy carter...as usual the rather untalanted under-cover element which seeks to keep me "in the box" were waiting for me to engage in heinous crimes...such as throwing my garbage into a dumpster which was not mine and going into the restroom to pee...it is harassment and expected...once again a good resource for current information about russia is a youtube presentation by Caolan Robertson...he points out how corruption in ukraine was especially entrenched by the "mafia state" which is Russia...there is a good collection of art history documentaries presented by paul priestly (art history school) and if scandalous pictures are of interest to you "Egon Schiele's short scanalous life" is quite good and the art is very interesting... and if hand crafted boots are of interest to you (or not) i found this documentary to be especially engaging..."Making hand made boots from boar (pigs)" siroeno yosui by ken kataoka (32 minutes) take note of the begining footage of the boar hunters in japan near a large bamboo forest...we need to plant a lot more bamboo in this country...also there is a good documentary called "The worlds least problematic leather" by stridewise@ caswellbootco....this austrailian fellow says it is our patriotic duty to use wild hog leather to rid ourselves of these feral threats to the environment...he also documents all the problems that arise from trying to make this particular leather suitable for boots..Dr.Andrew Huberman has a good presentation about being in a positive mind-set for mental growth "How to enhance performance and learning by applying a GROWTH MINDSET" (1:42) well worth the time...a lex fridman interview with david heinemier hanson (DHH) (#474)who is a well known computer/code writer expert delves into a lot of non computer areas and he points out that his approach to his business life is to have balance....he works a 40 hour week and has hobbies and a family life...also an interview with "the primeagen" who is another renowned computer person reveals this guys battle with drugs, attention deficit disorder and pornography addiction to become a devoted family man and devout christian as well as a succesful businessman...he delves into the computer programing needed to keep youtube up and running...which is a master feat..."There is a time for departure even when there is no certain place to go." "The rational mind...'

well i thought about my comments about f.zappa and o. osbourn and decided that it is a little preposterous and a lot pretentious of me to chastize anyone, especially since i started listening to B sabbath when i was about 16 years old and loved it...however my complaint is that insofar as people age and age changes peoples body and body parts and these are used to perform the acts of singing and playing musical instruments and there are many many instances of people who set the bar very very high and eventualy were not able to reach the high level of competence that THEY SET...one of the best examples of a tragic attempt to perform as they have in the past is johnny winters last performance...it is criminal how this man was pushed onto a stage without the slightest ability to perforn up to the standards which HE SET...anyhow according to the rock and roll biography john michael osbourn made several suicide attempts as early as age 14 "just to see what it would feel like"...it is astounding that the man battled with depression, addiction and bad health and still lived to the age that he did...a tough dude! as for f. zappa he recorded more than 80 albums...my first encounter with him was when i spotted "Chunga's Revenge" album in my friends older brothers room and i thought it must be some kind of illicit music...everyone i've met who likes zappa's music were guitar nerds...and there is enough film footage of him on the internet it is easy to see that he was an incredibly thoughtful person...so my calling him pretensious is well...pretensious....so enough of that...i was thinking of being in seattle in 1994 when C.cobain self destructed and learned later that there were quite a few suicides in his family...i read a good story by Horacio Quiroga called "The Dead Man"...this guy was exposed to a lot of dead folk...his best friend was killed by gunshot, his father and his stepfather commited suicide and he offed himself eventually...what a drag...well as long as i am on the subject of death, jeffery epstein is still dead...another rogue penis story...they never seem to run out...i finished watching the last episode of "Doc Martin" and "House"...two crumudgin doctors...however "Doc Martin" ended in life and light and "House" ended in darkness and death (it was really sad)...however i was looking at the offerings of music that Youtube is so good at dragging from the depths of obscurity for me to view and much to my amazement there was none other than hugh laurie (dr. house) sitting at a piano playing and singing "St. James Infirmery" and doing a damn fine job of it...i heard where some folks were lamenting the poor mental health advice which seems to be increasing in the internet...yep you got to be pretty discriminating about what you view especially if you are looking for advice...i found lex fridman #274 interview with Karl Deisseroth "Depression, schizophrinia. psychiatry" to be very intellectually uplifting and helpful...and i try not to go to bed after watching violence and mayhem...so i watch a lot of music...my latest fascination seems to be "Kitty, Daisy and lewis" who hail from london and who also play with their mom (bass guitar and stand-up bass and knowm as MOM) and their Dad (knowm as DAD on six string guitar) the three named musicians appear to all play all of the instruments equally well but kitty plays a killer harmonica and when daisy is on the drums she seems to be channeling keith moon on his more animated sets...anyhow these people seem to have good video from a lot of concerts and they are all great...about two weeks ago a person died in the hospital here from the bubonic plague...steps had to be taken to reduce the vectors..."The rational mind is a faithful servant but the intuitive mind is a precious gift." "Brains are evenly distributed..."

large book bought from library for 3 bucks...not enough pictures

one year of not trimming the beard has rendered me with another grooming responsibility

as the morning weather indicates that high temperatures will reach 114 degrees south of here which is deadly to most mammals...heat exposure kills more people than floods, tornadoes and hurricanes combined...yesterday the air conditioning broke in the airport down south and the inside temperature went into the 80's quickly....when (not if) all of the electricity fails the death toll will be in the many thousands of people..i recently heard someone say that people can survive the heat better than the cold....that is wrong....i have slept in the van when it got down to 14 degrees below zero...clothing is plentiful and cheap...and effective in keeping the body temperature high enough to be survivable and comfortable...if the person is healthy...the old, the young, and the infirm will be the first to perish...i have spent the last 3 days and nights in a motel room to enjoy what conveniences are available...but today being my 71st birthday i will return to the forest to enjoy what nature can provide to the soul...i have viewed mostly music on youtube in the last three days....some of the more enjoyable presentations are..."War Pigs" with 6 year old Marco Hashemi on lead guitar...(screw ozzie hasbeeen!)...i would like to say that i have always sought to understand the popularity of frank zappa (died from prostate cancer) i agree with eric claptons view that his music is mostly un-listenable...zappa got a award (grammy?) for "Jazz From Hell" so I took the time to listen to the title track...which is equally un-listenable...in my view a tune like "Blackbird" or "Here comes the sun" is far more aesthetically pleasing than zappas pretentious drivel...Amanda Ventura has  "The way" harmonica blues solo which is good and Ava Renn "Fortunate Son" (one of my favorite CCR tunes) is good, an entertaining presentation by Hillbilly Moon explosion "Johnny are you Gay?" is funny...The Cleverlys have several presentations of well known tunes in a bluegrass style... "Walk like an Egyptian" is good...Mike Nesmith got the first Grammy ever awarded for a video with his "Elephant Parts"...the drunks sitting at the bar scene is tragic more than funny however...one of the recent innovations on youtube is police body camera presentations...it is obvious that the marksmanship of most of these officers of the law is not very good...i picked up the entire third season of "Hill street blues" on DVD recently and the cops appear to be using 38 caliber handguns...I also picked up all six seasons of  "the sopranos" for five bucks yesterday...i subscribed to Caolan Robertson "inside russia" who seems to think russia is on the skids...on a humorous note i found Drew Dunn comedy "Positive Stuff" (31 min} to be funny...
