"Take away ambition..."

a swarm of hummingbirds come to enjoy the sugar water...now they are chubby birds ready to fly south

as i sit here next to the pile of mail forwarded to me I realize that the medical and insurance industries rely on the confusion of their customers (victims) to enrich themselves...

I don't mean to be braggadocios but I bought new shoes yesterday (sperry camo!) $3.50!

I would like to make a comment about Eros and Thanatos...sex and death...some years ago I was told by someone that ms. t. swift was very ambitious....I remember watching a documentary about Pink Floyd which shows,   I think it was mr gilmour saying they wanted to be the biggest and richest band in the world...pretty ambitious...but they had the chops to get there....so ms. t. swift has now decided to wed...and in her calculating way has chosen a person who is a professional healthy person...a hunk...which should keep a smile on her face for years to come...a very good choice...I heard that the suicide laws in canada which allow for medically approved self extermination has resulted in suicide being a large proportion of the deaths...great news...so now we need many more businesses to help compost the dead peoples bodies...as for the 16 year old male person who killed himself supposedly at the urging of a computer program I think first of all there is some blame but Sam Altman is not to be blamed for the neglect of the parents...I watched lex fridmans fourth interview  with Elon musk and they asked the computer program called GROK some questions and I was amazed at the "humanly" responses...I can see where if an impressionable person decides to embrace a computer program as a "confidant" there might be some reality issues...there are so many good intelligent discussions on mental health and all aspects of health on YouTube if these are watched and given more influence than a very flawed computer program a person would be better served...an excellent mental health presentation is "The most important lesson from 83,000 brain scans." (14 min) by Daniel Amen ...a lot of information has been obtained about abnormal human behavior due to brain disfunction...and "New medical innovation that could change everything" BBC (26 min) "the engineers"..."What tattoos do to the skin" (16 min) Institute of Human anatomy is a scientific view of modern tattoos on human skin...quite thorough...I heard about a K-Pop presentation called "Demon Hunters" which has become popular with a very young crowd...I went online to see what this is about...one of the people interviewed said they want to have a lot of merchandise and sequels and maybe a theme park or two....what I saw was absolutely disgusting, and seemed to be scary to a fault...this K-Pop needs to be popped!...I think today is the 20th anniversary of hurricane Katrina flooding New Orleans...I was on the Oregon coast when this was happening...I shed a tear but enjoyed the Oregon coast...storm on Jupiter...but I was not on Jupiter...also "How testosterone and culture shape behavior" by Carole K. Hoovens (15min) sheds a lot of light on what Robert Sapolsky calles the most mis-understood molecule in human history...he also has a very good segment on testosterone...now as I watch a C-Span call in show they had a caller talk about the crime in the state of Mississippi...which is also one of, if not the poorest state in the USA...may there be a correlation here?...I hope there is less murders in Chicago if the current heresiarch sends in federal troops...I also hope the wealth is more evenly distributed among the citizens...

Take away ambition and vanity, and where will be your heroes and patriots." Seneca

To follow imperfect..."

top image is a young short-horned lizard (Phrynosoma douglassii) i do not know which sub-species this is...i found it while walking near the truck
the next image is of a spider species which occurs on the thistle flowers...these spider quickly move to the other side of the blossom when they detect a person...obviously these spiders are not preyed on for food by humans so they must be avoiding insectivores like the numerous humming birds...the webs on the thistle bristles must be from these spiders....the next image is of a bee with red pollen on it's legs the next image is of a bee with yellow pollen on it's legs...why is that?
big news happening...uh...uh...just about everywhere i guess...big storm on jupiter....but i am not on jupiter...watched some very good youtube...lex fridman #477 "Keyu Jin:Chinas Economy"...this interview brings much clarity to the conditions that drive the economic and social situation today in china....one of the most informative interviews i have watched is Andrew Hubermans interview with Dr. Sergiu Pasca on "Developmental Neuro-Biology" (2hrs 23min) well worth the time...these brilliant scientists are growing various brain cells in test tubes with remarkable results...organoids and assembloids...dr Pasca emphasizes the need for a nomenclature for these new scientific discoveries ....a very good documentary about Amedeo Modigliani the artist called "Love, loss and art; the wild life of a tragic genius" this close to the edge fellow was addicted to hashish and booze and apparently could not escape himself and he died young...but some spectacular art was created...

"As the soil..."

 new lens=micro-nikkor Nippon kogaku Japan=vintge $30

two images from "Seeing the Insane" sander Gilman (1982) female="the masturbator in a state of physical collapse" from Rozier 1830 (more female sexual condemnation) male image="monomania with delusions of military grandeur" gericault

this image is from "the yoga system of health and relief from tension" by yogi vithaldas...I used this book to instruct me when I was 19 years old and this is one os the most useful poses I found for keeping the spine limber....I highly recommend yoga exercises as a beginning to bodily awareness...combined with meditation and good diet the result is unsurpassed for spiritual advancement...and one feels energetic all day....

so I just watched v. Putin and d. trump on c-span holding a brief news conference  which is a much better image than relentless images destruction and death...I have neglected to mention a couple of regular YouTube presentations by "Little Chinese Everywhere" the last two...one in the desert and one with sweet melons...(I have not viewed the one posted today)...I hope the department of agriculture is taking note of all the great fruit and vegetables that are being seen in china...bring some of those seeds here...also "Philosophize this" has a good review of  with"A philosophy of self-destruction"(#233) the quality of these intellectual interpretations remains high...Lindsay Nikole did an excellent review of hammerhead sharks and stalk eyed insects...and the latest presentation illustrates why you have to be tough to get all those tattoos!...

"History Is neither..."

just because it is on the cutting board don't mean I got to eat it!

well, it is a historic day...hopefully the USA will not offer any of Alaska to ruskies...these folks are like texans on steroids...very protective of their rights and property...I like to keep things in perspective so I remember that there is a huge storm on Jupiter...but I am not on Jupiter...I could not help but notice that my writing about a_girl seems to have illicited a response from the anonymous floaters who like to make comments within ear-shot...they said that this woman is under investigation...the exact infraction however is somewhat vague...perhaps "illicit ardor " is the charge....well I have  been under investigation for at least 35 years...which is longer than this woman has been alive I think...mustn't let detractors alter ones views to accommodate others...however! ones freedom of thought must always be weighed against the real possibility of incarceration..also to keep things in perspective a good YouTube presentation is "What happens while we hurtle around the sun at 64,000 mile per hour"(48in) I am not sure why j. epstein should get more than his 15 minutes of fame...what a bore...I picked up an interesting movie a while back called "Brother  Orchid" (1940) with Edward g. Robinson and Humphrey Bogart ....it is about a mobster who has a life changing experience....also I saw that Xenophanes (570-475 BCE) renounced the adulation of athletes against the current religions views...he is considered to be the founder of epistemology (the theory of knowing and learning)...I am amazed at how much times spent on so called "sporting events"...I propose that a new team name be adopted by a major "sport franchise" the "SUCKER BETS" which will be owned by a company from 633 stag trail road, north caldwell New Jersey...I don't mean to be braggadocios but I have had my mug of fresh coffee (thanks again for the marvelous microwave) and croissants this morning (actually the croissants were on the markdown rack) but as I listen to WWOZ radio from newoilyens I realize that a person can be very much in touch with the rest of the world in todays modern society...as long as they can access the electronic signals from afar...the restrictions on internet access has begun with children...I understand that the state of Mississippi has now required parental approval for persons under the age of 18 to get online..."mission creep"...I have noticed recently that there is an increasing amount of balderdash and crap which appears on YouTube and if a person is not using some discretion they can waste a lot of time down those "rabbit holes."  because I have become quite enthralled with the London musical ensemble "Kitty, Daisy and Lewis" I watched a documentary about them from several years go...in this well done presentation lewis is 19 years old and daisy is 20 years old and kitty is 15 years old....lewis has a living room full of vintage recording equipment as well as a vinyl cutting machine so he can make his own records...also the parents are presented as vital members of the group...these folks really love "Americana" music...I don't think they play USA much if at all...a humorous music presentation is "Coffee and a Joint" from sugar shack sessions...I can remember vividly my mornings on Whittaker creek in just such a position...standing on the log across the creek as the creek flowed past and the first toke...heaven on earth!....then the addiction process unraveled my already tenuous relationship with reality and I realized that my mind was flowing downstream also...live and learn...I learned about the "Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory-2 MMPI-2...which is used to evaluate persons "potential" for different behaviors...I think I might have contracted "borderline personality" from living so close to the border...(on the edge actually)...well I have gotten some of the "scribble habit" out of my system so off I go to make the hard decision about whether I will brave the stormy weather or stay inside...."History is neither more nor less than biography on a large scale." "The worst thing..."

here are a couple of books that seek to illustrate women in societies

the notion that women who sell sex are soiled may be a self fulfilling prophesy...as the book on the history of prostitution points out much of the hardships endured by these the women was inflicted by a society that felt the need to condemn these people to the extent that their place of residence and work was severely restricted...as for beauty...well it is certainly in the eye of the beholder..."nothing made the horse so fat as the kings eye..." there is a very good YouTube presentation by a psychologist named Orion Taraban called 'psychacks"...this fellow has a bunch of explanations (according to himself) about mens and women relationships...some (most) of his views are not mainstream...as is usually the case much information about sex is filtered through a non-approving society so any information that is unrestricted is valuable...I realized that aella the statistician/sex worker has many detractors when my writing about her was deleted...I have seen lots of porn so that aspect of her "web-presence" did not interest me much...however since she was actively engaged in sex work and just as actively engaged in confronting that society which unjustly condems her I took the time to find some of her writing..."The eternal tao might be an asshole" is a well crafted parable about finding "enlightenment" by following other peoples methods (like digging holes in the ground"...she mentions Alan Watts alcoholism which undoubtedly shortened his life and probably blunted his intellect...but so much for flawed humans...I sort of see aella as the sex worker equivalent of Huckleberry Finn..."not just anybody can paint this fence"...a good YouTube animal presentation that I saw is "Rakar Katen the cat"... good video...not all cats are created equal..."The worst thing that an old man can be, is a lover". "The most happy persons..."

this appears to be some flavor of rock squirrel...but it does not look like anything in any of my field guides...
porcupine spine....and skull and lower jaw....

trees trimmed...more grass...fatter cattle....silva grazing

mushy blob fungi in pine tree stump
mushy blob fungi sliced open...uniform consistency throughout....
fungi on the side of a pine stump...exterior has hardened into a protective skin

exterior skin pulled back to reveal what appears to be spores....fungi are amazing earthlings!

got a covid shot last week...much pain the next day and nightmares...i watched some interesting stuff on youtube this week...i highly recommend looking at a couple of the short presentations about the "OVERTON WINDOW" named for joseph overton....this window seems to be in action even as we speak...dr. andrew huberman has a good interview with a d.c. heller about "cold exercise" which if properly undertaken can increase muscle-mass more efficiently than without cold...dr huberman is noticeably excited...he likes big muscles....especially his own....i came across some music that i had never seen before...COLT CLARK AND THE FAMILY CREATIVE...mr colt clark is a professional musician and during the covid lockdown 4 years ago he did not work and rather than letting his skills get rusty he enrolled his three children into a band...the kids are Belamy female vocals, keyboard, and rattle thingys (was 5 years old when band began) all of the rolling stones tunes come with a lot of " mick moves"...poochy lips and strutting etc....great stuff AND some of the best chair jumps ever...look out TAYLOR!...the drummer is Beckett and he gets better and better...shows some real talent...the guitar is Cash...he also shows much improvement....between cuddle buddies and the clark family band i can get through the day without going into "impissated gloom"...i also watched a very depressing video called "these sisters were crying over a puppy-then this happens.'...this short piece consists of two little girls crying in the back seat of their car because the puppy they had just met in the local animal shelter was left behind...after too much time of little girls crying the dad appears with the pound puppy...anything for more likes!..i can live without this kind of drama!....

"the most powerful army in the world..."

i am going to attempt to write some of the material i had in yesterdays disappeared blog and see if it also gets "cancelled"...i thought about what it is that could have caused this severe reaction to my writing and i came to no certain answer..BUT! i wrote about a person who is indeed controversial and not a historic character but alive and kicking...she is an unapologetic sex worker and statistician of some renown...i was introduced to her for the first time in dr. lex fridmans interview #358 (4 hours) ...a very interesting encounter on several levels...she also has a very good more recent interview with joshua citarella of doom scroll...she refers to herself as a "whorelord"...whatever, i agree with much of her views but my world view is very much influenced by more than a decade as a zookeeper...most people see themselves as humans when i think a more honest and compassionate worldview would be for humans to view themselves as "EARTHLINGS" along with all the other creatures on planet EARTH...i used to disparage of those folks who spoke of people being "speciesist" and like anyone who disparages of that group other than there own the "others" suffer at the hands of the dominant group...some of the better  youtube presentations i watched recently were dr. lex fridmans # 475 with dr. demis hassabis (2 hours 28 minutes) also Dr robert sapolsky has a good informative presentation (#72) with his "offspring" Rachel entitled "mother versus fathers" which explains the rather complex genetics inherited by offspring...people have 49% father genes and 51% mother genes...and one of the most informative youtube presentations i have ever watched was by dr. andrew huberman and dr. nirao shah who both work at stanford university (as does dr. sapolsky)..."male versus female brain differences" (2 hours and 26 min) which explains in understandable detail the multitude of molecular reasons why people are not born just boys or girls...the trans-sexual issues are much more understandable with these learned explanations...i also watched a good movie available online "Dead Fall" (1968) with michael caine...the cinematography was by gerry turpin and the editing was by john jympson...both were excellent ( i am assuming that the credit for "photography" is the same as the cinematography)...i also watched part of the dvd collection "Introduction to Paleontology (smithsonian 2016) by prof, stuart sutherland...i keep hearing about the "hard problem of consciousness" when i think we should spend more time contemplating the "problem of hard consciousness"...the human species seems hell bent on mass murder...150,000 dead from the ongoing conflict in sudan...but they don't get too much air-time...the other thing that makes my "world-view" somewhat different from many others is the "medicine" that deprives me of most of my testosterone...this makes my focus much less intensely "sexual" than most male mammals...quite an interesting way to view the world...i feel much less vulnerable to seduction on many levels..."the most powerful army in the world can do nothing against the universal guerilla action " chou en-lai...this is my argument against this mindset...constant unrelenting conflict is bullshit and deprives the people involved of a life immersed in co-operation and love...and yet it is happening all over the world...don't get caught up in that net of sorrow...

here we go again..."if the divine will..."

an attempt to see is i still have a blog or if i have been cancelled...this part seems to have been made to run the gauntlet of censure...while i put a lot of energy into the blog from last night i realize now that i am not immune from online violence...moreover i can see how easy it is for a person like me to be completely removed from any contact with anyone by the efforts of those who embrace totalitarian and authoritarian ideas and practices...i assumed that the intense attention that i have received would not result in my personal danger but i was wrong...much to many peoples puzzlement i have never made a nickle from my writing or my photography...first of all when i started this blog to avoid the students in the library from hacking my e-mails to my brother...and also i had been inspired by compulsive desire to scribble as they say...mr teatsqueezer grew organically from my muse and grew into a full blow character...he was the character that most intrigued some of the younger readers...when a small child ran up to me in the library wide eyed and expectant i realized that i had assumed some responsibility for the character of mr. teatsqueezer...who in the imaginations of these children was ME!...anyhow i i was told that i should monetize my characters and i knew from my own personal experiences that some children do not have any financial resources at all...when i was in about the first or second grade in elementary school my teacher decided that since there was a coke machine in the teachers lounge we should all be able to get a cold coke for a nickel...but some of the kids did not have a nickle and from that memory i decided that selling anything to children will eliminate some of them from the experience...i have been perfectly content to write without financial reward but i will not accept censure as something i must endure to write...also i know that when money enters into any transaction the dynamic of that relationship changes...i have tried to be sensitive to the minds of those who are impressionable and i do not believe that my writing has damaged any young minds...but i believe some of my writing could have been modified to be less "controversial"...i have heard people say that i am a writer and a photographer...i do both of those things...but i still like to think of myself as a "poet/philosopher"...yeah right! it is increasingly apparent to me that my writing has upset some people to the extent that they are willing to do me bodily harm...i can very easily see myself ending up as the poet Lorca, dragged from his home and shot by a mindless military... "if the divine will implies the torture of an innocent child by a brute, I'm handing back my ticket." Ivan from "The brothers karamazov" by Dostoevsky
