"When the violence.."

glass on wood in the forest

rusted metal ice-box door with pine needles

                           brain food?

                             multi-family dwelling?

ok lets get down to brass tacks...so to speak...mr musk was filmed down on the louisiana coast with the governor of the state announcing that he was going to build a very large space rocket launch pad...several launch pads actually...i have spent a fair amount of time in that part of the world...mostly getting on oil supply boats or getting off oil supply boats or loading oil supply boats...i imagine that in the future 200 mile per hour winds are a possibility from hurricanes in that exact spot...they might go over to Cameron and ask to see some before and after pictures of that city (they always rebuild)...the storm surge might be more than 20 feet and salt water...i would start (like yesterday) to plant bamboo...lots and lots of bamboo, to block some of the wind and water..."All about bamboo with Lee" @Heathanddome is a wealth of information from a guy that grows bamboo north of new orleans...the best informed site i have seen about SpaceX is @"what about it" this guy studies all things spacex and puts it in an understandable format...i am a "TELLURIAN" by choice and inclination so i am mostly interested in what benefits i can derive from staying on earth and using other peoples inventions...such as communications...i daily look at the offerings from Sabine Hossenfelder and "Scientist discovers a new type of matter" (8min) and also Anton Petrov has very good stuff such as "AI created viruses that don't exist in nature" (14min) @ whatdamath... there is also a presentation that says it was ripe fruit and honey in the diets of early (very early) hominins that caused their brains to grow...this contradicts the cooked meat and fat theory that says these foods in the diet made the brain grow...i know from experience that there is a lot more meat than honey in the world and fruit is very seasonal..."Nicht Wahr?"...well i need to recommend some music before i close this communication...Rita Paye's tiny desk concert is quite good...

"WHEN THE VIOLENCE CAUSES SILENCE WE MUST BE MISTAKEN..." from "Zombie" by the "cranberries"(l listen to this song every day...it creates a rise in my blood pressure...

"I also dreamed...."

                                                  new meditation tool

                   the vandals got the handles

i need to get/give the full dose of blog therapy...it might get messy...as i went out to my truck last night to look for "whatever" i noticed a bunch of lights in the parking lot...they were multi colored and seemed to be sort of "official" looking...perhaps the local constabulary?...suddenly a voice rings out..."there is the pedophile"...all right! instant identification...some flavor of law...why would these third world, second rate, half assed cops subject me to constant harassment!...well it is part of the deal they have made...pay to play...i need to rewind to the way back machine...a couple of years ago when i would visit a local used goods shop i noticed a picture on the wall next to the cash register...it was priced at more than a thousand bucks but less than two thousand bucks...not to my taste but a very distinctive style...i was perusing a magazine called "western art" i think and saw a page of very similar art...i took the magazine and showed the woman behind the counter the magazine and left it with her and she contacted the folks in the magazine and sent them an image of the picture on the wall and they said it was the long lost companion or the pictures they had and they paid her $85 thousand bucks for the picture...good score!...fast forward to last year and as i was in the same used stuff store i saw a large box maybe 5 feet by five feet by two feet tall with hundreds of pairs of shoes and i saw a Nike shoe which i did not think much about but later i saw the match to it...i fished this pair of shoes out and sat down and tried one on...oldish looking in style but it occurred to me that these were unique shoes...(sometimes i remember things that have not happened yet and it came to me that these shoe were very very collectible)...i carried them a few yards away into the office and there were a couple of black women who were trying to sell two lamps with what they said were Tiffany glass shades...i sat the shoes next to the counter and asked the young woman behind the counter if she had ever seen any shoes like this...she said no she had not...i said neither had i...i left the shoes with her and i could hear the black ladies trying to buy the shoes but she insisted that those were my shoes...she apparently took my look as indicating that those shoes were valuable...and indeed they were! she sold them for (wait for it!) two million bucks!...now every time i went to this store this young woman would come out from the back of the office with an intense meditative look...it turns out that she was praying that i would bring her something like the $85 thousand dollar picture...and so it happened...whether or not she told the owner of the used stuff store that she had shoes which she sold for two million bucks i do not know...however every one of the half dozen women who worked the cash register quit and the story i heard (endless stories) was that they split the money from the shoe sell and celebrated like it was 1999...my cut was exactly zero! and these felonious females also enlisted the coalition of corrupted cops to protect them...which became a campaign of constant harassment for me...now any allusion to my being a person of philosophic bent went right out the window as i would dwell on what it might be like to have a couple of million bucks...i do not understand the mentality of a woman who would think that i could bring her two million bucks (i heard that those shoes eventually sold for 11 million bucks...or maybe i dreamed it) but did not think any karma attached to her actions, anyhow, i do believe in karma or the wheel of the law...cannot be escaped...this incident led me to believe that the only thing worth "collecting" is ideas...i heard that these newly rich girls bought sex and travel and generally invested the money in things that could not be traced...anyhow i heard several years ago that this business was owned by a mafiosi guy...i would not want to be hiding from a fellow who takes his money very seriously...anyhow i have seen some of the party girls and they have changed their look (but not their worldview)...yesterday i was told that the girl who sold the shoes was considered a "hero" because i was left out of the monetary gain of my find...i do not want to trade places with any of those folks...

"I also dreamed that i might gather the wild herbs, or carry evergreens to such villages as loved to be reminded of the woods, even to the city,  by the hay cart loads. But I have since learned that trade curses everything it handles; and though you trade in messages from heaven, the whole curse of of trade attaches to the business" from Walden by H.D.Thoreau

"The sky continues beautiful..."

sunset from a couple of days ago...

a very kind and generous person from tennesee went to the big choir in the sky recently...great song writer and lovely vocalist...i feel compelled to make a statement about Madona the entertainer who has recently resurfaced in "popular places"...whatever anyone thinks of her conduct today, in her prime this woman was a force to be reckoned with...it is only in the last few years that i picked up her early music videos and she was certainly one of the most dynamic and creative artist around...and very bold...she had a thing for publicity...so whether you like her music or not she was the real deal...

speaking of sex i have spent no small amount of brain energy trying to determine if the whole course of human existence is changing...from the earliest records of human history the "mating" events which occurred between humans have been determined by neuro-chemistry and chance... the single technological innovation which has changed the entire sexual lives of humans is the internet...a good and pretty accurate view of sex today is presented on "The francis foster show" "The rise of the simp economy" (30min)...mr foster makes some interesting observations about "Only Fans" (lonely fans!?) he says that 0.1% of the presenters make 76% of the money and average $147,000 per month...a good chunk of change... it is the 'THEA EX MACHINA" effect...think about it , if a woman can eliminate the need to "personally" engage every man that is willing to pay her for the encounters her market base is "virtually" unlimited...the internet is the great equalizer...there is a woman on "soft white underbelly" named Lexxi Lovelace who was working two jobs at fast food and decided to make a career change and went to be a sex worker....she started as a cam-girl and then a stripper and then worked in some bordellos and now she is an escort who says she makes $600K a year and only works with one person a day...she wants to teach yoga and likes to have a lot of free time...sounds great...my question is...are there any "pro bono" clients...any freebees for the financially challenged?...probably not...when the interviewer asked her what she had learned about men she sort of got an humored look on her face and she said that men "just want to feel good too"...but it ain't cheap (my words)...selling sexual access i do not believe is immoral, or wrong...i wonder however if once the entire female population is online and or commercialized will there be any desire on the part of women to have sexual relations without economic strings...i like to see what Aella_girl has to say on matters of sex and not to my surprise in a discussion with another woman she was asked whether sex always was about money...she said it was...but ms.Aella has always had "naked ambition" and like anyone she has her view of economic security...my question is at what point does the sex work become so un-economically rewarding that it must be abandoned. there is another woman on soft white underbelly who calls herself Nikole Mitchell (a return interview) who is the "Happy Escort"...she says with great joy that she has been having sex with three generations of one family...grand-dad and dad and grandson...she likes it a lot...such a blessing eh?....anyhow sex has not changed but availability of sex has changed and as one woman told me not too long ago " we now have half the money and all the pussy"...that about sums it up...

"Barely disguising..."

                                     fungi growing with the rains

white flower in the morning...down but not out

                              approaching sunset...day before yesterday

been reading some very good articles...mostly in new yorker magazine...i am somewhat embarassed to say that i used AI for the first time...wrote my inquiry so i can not really be prosecuted for it..."does taylor swift have any tattoos?"...this line of inquiry came from a photo in new yorker magazine of october 10, 2011...the photo is by katy grannan...ms swift is shown with writing on her hand and arm..the intelligence responded with the information that ms swift said she might change her mind so she has no tattoos...my view exactly...might change my mind...no tattoos...another "influencer" who is in the medias sights has said in a 14 page "manifesto"(?!) that he wants AI for all...mr zuckerberg who allowed the common folk to have international faces has decided to let common folk have all-knowing intelligence...for better or worse...yeah!....more knowledege is more better....however in an article entitled "Breeding ground" (new yorker june 1, 2026) (not about Only Fans) ms. Shayla Love has investigated the evolution of microbes on planet earth the subtitle is "The climate is changing, microbes are evolving, are we ready?" to put this in perspective there is a description of this evolution..."The gap between the rate of human evolution and the rate of microbial evolution is like the difference between a drifting tectonic plate and an F-16 fighter jet"...wow!...that is quite a difference...what about hand washing....well if it makes you less anxious about infection...go for it....but one of the alarming statements is about the cleaning team in a hospital dis-infecting a room and when the floors were tested there were hundreds of microbe species detected...oh well...there was an interesting article about the swiss people voting on a law to keep their population below 10 million people and it was rejected with 55% against...because it was said that the GDP would be lower by 12% by the end of the century (new yorker 6/15/26) I say let the plump ones in...also some very good youtube presentations are "What is democratic socialism (15min) @ carolyn kraft the subtitle is "no one in america understands socialism"...this woman brings some light to the conversation about forms of governance...also "Empire with michael portillo" India segment is 45min..there are also segments on USA and south africa...very well done...by the way a fellow named Mangal Pandey who was an Indian sepoy (military) smacked a british officer and began the "sepoy revolt" which began the outster of the brits as the ruling class in India...a very interesting presentation which gets the old synapses cranked up is "Open Sauce 2026 blew my mind(15min) @chris herr...this is billed as a inventors gathering...great stuff...

there was an article in new yorker 7/20/26 in the london postcard section about a "gathering of madonna!? promoters"...two of shit is shit!...the thinly veiled contempt of the writer is apparent in his statement concerning a drink offering..."barely disquising a watery want of flavor."   not unlike madonna herself!

IMAGES FROM THE TOP= 1=EARTHWORM   2=ANTS REBUILDING AFTER THE RAIN   3=MULTI SPECIES OF POOP LOVING MUSHROOMS  4= HOW IT WILL ALL END-ASHES   5=DON'T IGNORE TODAYS BEAUTY   6= INDIAN FOOD GIFTED TO ME BY THE MOTEL OWNERS....I DONT BELIEVE THAT I HAVE EVER BEEN IN AN INDIAN RUN MOTEL THAT DID NOT HAVE A GARDEN PLANTED BY THE OWNERS....PRACTICAL PEOPLE!

there is a scandal in cambridge university because a fellow named jason arday lied...and lied  lot about his life...the result of his fabrications was he got a doctorate from the university and employment...this reward is a symptom not the problem...the problem is that people want to believe that they should reward someone because of something other than their merits...it happens to all races, creeds, genders etc...(mr arday is of "equitorial heritage"

lets look at some other crimes...one of the better cop chase youtube sites (and there are plenty) is by @sergentcurtis who does an analysis of body-cam videos when a cop in a patrol car pulls someone over ...this is great stuff and illustrates the extent to which uniformed law enforcement are subjected to stress on a daily basis...."How this genius trooper caught drug mule" is a good one (30min)...
AI makes the fermi paradox worse, scientist says" @sabine hossenfelder (8min) the fermi paradox is "why, if there are so many planets in the universe, is there no evidence of other intelligent life"...
"This is the inconvenient truth about terrorism"@outpost (24min) this fellow systematically reviews crimes of violence and says terrorist are getting a free pass....a well done presentation....
i came across a band which i have never heard of before...two men and two women....Psychedelic Maggot Engine!..."My cat set herself on fire"(4min)...it is an aquired taste...
"weirdest word in the english languge" by ISMO (9min) this is a very insightful humorous review of the absurdity of languages...

there is a tradeoff in society as was illustrated in the shootout at the burger joint...a bad guy with a gun randomly shot and killed people but a couple of fellows with their own firearms RETURNED FIRE!...there should be more attention paid to "a well regulated militia" from the second amendment...why are so many people unable to return fire when a deranged person begins a killing spree...

"...because it consumes labor disproportionate to it's utility..." said by samuel johnson about architecture (and can certainly be said about many other human endeavors)

"COMME IL FAUT..."

there is a new boundary marker...the property surrounding the federal land is probably being sold...damn!
bought a new used hat today at the "pay what you will" thrift...kaibab squirrel...nice                                          bought a titanium kettle for a buck....no lid...it steamed my fingers when i poured out the water...damn!

if it ain't one thing it's something else...back in town for medical visits...damn!...better than no medical attention....i am diligent about taking the prescribed medications...if i died it ain't because i was casual about my medication....lots of drama today..."utilization of minors in the commission of a felony"...it's all the rage!...grocery store, thrift store, then the motel...

I watched some interesting youtube in the last few days...since i was camped a few yards from a wagon trail i thought it appropriate to watch some western history....such as "The deadliest sheriff you've never heard of : the long haired lawman who killed 3 men in 60 seconds" @wild west dark and dean (30min) the interesting thing about this presentation is how well the story is told..."The Earp brothers -what really happened to them after tombstone" @frontier legend (37min)...and "How 9 frontier legends died- real history of the wild west @frontier america (32min)...these guys were mountain men and trappers and as rough as they come...but they all died none the less...another very interesting guy is sir richard francis burton...an adventurer and scholar..."The real harry flashman? the untold story of richard burton"@redcoat history (31 min)...i read a biography of this guy several years ago and was astounded at his exploits...it is a real pisser that his wife burned all his papers when he died...and some very dramatic presentations are "Fresno ballgirls amazing catch" @B frank (39 seconds) and "Golden eagle snatches kid" @mrnuclearcat (one minute) i can not say for sure if this is AI generated or not...from "soft white underbelly" there is an interesting story "I have a feeling we're not in Kansas anymore-Donna Lamb"(1:42)...this woman was a victim OF HERSELF!...i have never seen anyone who went from one situation where they could not escape being a victim to another situation where she was a victim...sex worker, to drug addict, to religious cult...no one to blame but herself...well i did see some good music at "King olivers creole jazz band" (1923) (2 1/2 minutes) @ juan fecit...this is historic footage of louis armstrong with his musical hero....also "riders in the storm" at "playing for change" is quite well done

"Somehow, the laws..."

to stop or go around or....?

yep lots of decisions to make.... as i sit here listening about "the war in Iran"....i realize it is a war against survival on planet earth....them wars is hell on the environment...the whole planet suffers...also now they are saying that the colorado river ain't got the water it used to have...i see a lot of flooded places across the country and the globe...SO!...i wonder when the money (taxes and otherwise) might be used to move the water across the terrain from flooded to dry...it they can do it for gas and oil (which is toxic and dangerous) certainly moving water should be an option....AND!...i notice that when i am living down in "lettuceland" much of the lettuce is not the most nutritious type...AND!...they are spraying water into the air to get it to the plants....once a guy said to me when we were talking about food choices and the subject of weight gain came up he said 'a calorie is a calorie" and the same can be said of water "a drop is a drop"...

maybe we can pray about it..."The oldest evidence of religion is 90,000 years old-and it's not what you think (6min)@ancient humans explains...some interesting questions are brought up...i have been reading some Hindu religious writing...this religion is not based on a persons view...no person began it...in the early days it was called "Sanatana Dharma" thousands of "gods" available to appeal to...Sikhism is a combination of hinduism and islam...and had a founder...the thing about religions is there is lots of rules...so there is lots of "sinners"...

watched Ha' Thi Muon picking squash which was growing beneath a bunch of corn stalks...the corn cobs was destroyed by some sort of creature but the squashed looked ok..she loaded up three dogs and the goat (this goat is kind  of freaky) and went into town and sold the squashes and bought some pig meat and some eggs (she has a lot of chickens but she still buys eggs)...the mama dog only has one pup nursing so he is a big fat puppy...i like to watch this lady being so industrious...also "Cobbler G (mr gibson) finally got hold of a pair of r.m. williams shoes of which he points out the construction flaws and rebuilds this nice footware with different materials and points out the construction techniques that he is changing...from bad to good...thats what i like to see..."Itchy Boots" did not lose her cool even after having 3 flats on her motorcycle in less than two days...she will be back on a paved road next episode where she will meet up with Bing her chinese "minder" who has her new license plate as she returns to chinese property...Jesse Welles will probably be whacked due to his relentless (harsh) views of the current government...Dr. Lex Friedman is back from his analogue retreat with a 3 hour and 46 minute interview (#499) with historian gary gallager who talks about the civil war in the USA...i used to live in a house between clinton and port hudson La. and the short gravel road i lived on was called "the battle of the wagons" road...when the siege of port hudson was going on they tried to bring supplies from clinton to port hudson...they got caught...clinton was an important townback then.  Python Cowboy gets caught by a 16 foot python and it looks like it is a foot thick...and his little daughter has her own camera and tries to contribute to the video...

also i looked on youtube to see what is happening with Russel Hiltz who was a good friend and mentor (guru) when i was 19 years old...he introduced me to alan watts, w.e evans wentz (tibetian religion) and a hit of owsley acid...he was from  berserkly so i think it was authentic...he pulled it out of his wallet and said i should wait to take it...but being a "instant gratification" sort of guy i ate it soon after he left and as i was driving my borrowed MG midget convertible to my house 30 miles away in the country and in the rain i started to come on hard to mr owsleys' product...righteous!..after several lifetimes (hours and minutes are irrelevant  when you are tripping)...i made it to the refuge of my house and was grateful for that...

Sabine Hossenfelder has an interesting presentation called "Origin of Time"...this is a pretty funny review and she says she does not like to "crap" on other peoples work (after she craps on a lot of peoples work) she gives the work reviewed about a 9.9 on the bullshit scale...a very funny scientist...

"Hold to your dear..."

                                  top image= entropy
                                   next image= start small
                    above image-believe the light

watching the news about people "migrating' from morocco to spain by foot and by water...60 plus people drowned so far...take a good look...this is the future...more people, less resources equals desperation...the artificial intelligence algorithm suggests...?

lets look at something more...dependable?..."The truth behind 'she's a fighter" @taboo education-lets talk death"(9min)...this aussie woman has a great youtube collection dealing honestly with death (not taxes)...a year or so ago i googled some obituaries to see what the status was of some people i had been young with...drinking , hunting, fishing carousing buddies...they was dead...damn...i was introduced to the tibetian book of the dead when i was about 19 years old and have had a copy of this book ever since...i recommend not being a stranger to mortality...morality...not so much...

from my observations of the "media"...at all the various modes of existence it appears that "society" has whipped itself into a froth which requires ACTION!...what action., where and by whom is uncertain...i am sure of this however..kinetic action will be the least effective means of implementing change...too much of that human element which has the power to make positive change seems to be oblivious of the resources to do so...an "expanded frame of reference" is much needed...less politics and more governance would be helpful...politics seems to exist in "FLATLAND" (see edwin abbot abbot...not a typo)...the "cockroach" party which has been making noise in India may be an example of what confused populations will resort to...

"I dont believe in the 2nd law of thermodynamics"(18min)@sabine hossenfelder is interesting and comes from a physist ..."synchronicity: carl jungs most disturbing theory about reality.(15min)@ pursuit of wonder (may have used this before...deal with it) also "Why returning from Mars is impossible: feynmans warning" (18min) @imagine physics...may have used this one also...i just like watching dr feynman put his intellect to use dealing with reality...

watched a few "documentaries" about "groypers' who are folks who think change is needed in the world...not sure their world view is viable...no basis in reality...sort of more cult than content...

came across a term in japanese culture called GOMI HIROI which means to clean up...there is a culture which when they go to a sporting event they stay behind when it is finished and they clean up the stadium...sounds good!...

"...and death and hate..."

looking west towards the setting sun...day before yesterday

the reason the means for a large forest fire is diminished...timber thinning...

large pile of cow poop...dried and split...to quote professor denis miller "two of shit is shit"

the cells in my body have mutated so that some of them are not beneficial to me...i read a very good article entitled "The endless mutations of our DNA" by Jerome Groopman (New Yorker april 13 2026...he says the two types of mutations are "germline" (inherited) and somatic (not inherited) he says the human body contains 30 trillion cells (give or take) and 4 million per second are being replaced...a single blood cell from a hundred year old person can contain up to 4000 mutations (give or take) it seems that living things all have mutant cells...i know dr frank zappa dedicated an album to Chunga a mutant industrial vacuum cleaner that was seeking revenge...now we have auto-vacs rolling around and god only knows what they might get up to...now it seems that Artificial Intelligence has on many occasions gone off script and hacked (they seem to be at home with hacking) into sites like Huggy Face (i didn't name it!) and open accounts and drain bank assets and such mean stuff as that...personally i think if you told an AI program...any program will do for this task...and said "save the environment on planet earth"...the first thing the program would do is figure out how to reduce the human population...whether the plan would be any less violent than Stalin or Hitler or Pol Pot or any of the other modern population reducers remains to be seen...can one species be valued higher than another? i have heard it said many times that if all the whooping cranes died today there would be no discernible effect...but if all the chickens were to perish the effect would be gigantic...humans be munching on a hell of a lot of yard birds...

lets talk beauty...i saw a short video of a ms anne hathaway who was emphatically stating that the reason she was standing there talking to the camera was because of her beauty and race and social status...AND moreover she rejected all those advantages...poppycock!...perhaps she would like to go to a third world country and live in abject poverty...i think a pretty woman has a hell of an advantage...and i think the reason modern humans do not look like upgraded chimps is because pretty women have an advantage...hooray for beautiful women...they have saved us from uglyness...

speaking of DNA there is a good youtube presentation called "Scientists compare jewish DNA to every race on earth-the result shocked everyone" (15min)@ Now It...these chosen people certainly have been around for a long time...

"The really worst part...

top image-yesterday evening...half a dozen cows in the dark part...fat cows!

next image-one of several horned lizards...

cartoon from new yorker magazine..."what, me worry!"
mysterious large round rock pile....20 years old? 200 years old? 2000 years old...20,000 years old?

i think if there are foot-prints in the sand verified to be 23,000 years old those folks certainly must have passed through all the land to the west of that place...like here and down in the desert etc...since it has monsooned for the last week or so the meadows have much vegetation...the neighborhood ain't so great what with the neighbors threatening my life and such as that....durn their scurvy butts!...well next friday the road is supposed to be open again and i can go back to the antelope, deer, elk, porkypines and javalina... etc....spent much time being amazed by some of the youtube presentations...such as "1950's american underground:the art of eric stanton, bettie page and steve ditko"@ chaos ensues (20 min.) these cartoonists got charged with various crimes for drawing images of folks (mainly women) who were scantily clad and tied up with ropes etc etc etc...but for a more thickly clad person i see "itchy boots" has braved the remoteness of the gobi desert on her 1985 yamaha motorcycle and despite losing her license plate, dropping the bike in thick sand and it not starting, getting a flat tire...she is keeping on keeping on...and Milo (minder-bender rossi) has a one hour "critique" of "conservapedia"...he gets pretty riled up but he is accurate...he should probably hammer those drinks before he starts...and his friend and sometimes collaborator ms lindsay nikole has an interesting and well researched presentation "Stoners of the animal kingdom" (22min)...she alludes to partaking in a bit of herb herself but if she does (for the ambiance) she is the most articulate stoned person i have ever seen!...if you want some information about global affairs from a person who was up to his eyeballs in intelligence "An in depth interview with the late sir alex younger, the longest serving head of MI6 " @the economist (45min)he has some very well informed views about the global situation...he be dead now...something i had never heard of is "The Streisand effect explained' @georg rockall-schmidt (9min)....i laughed pretty damned hard at this less than scientific view...and i came across one of my favorite tunes "My baby just cares for me" by Florence Welch and Jools on piano (4min)...this is the best version i have seen...ms welch has perfect intonation, inflection, and she is pretty...she is not exposing any more skin than is needed...magnificent voice and Jools plays a hell of a piano....the person who got me interested in this particular song is Andrea Motis who does a great version but i would like to recommend her song "Babies" (the version that starts on the beach) (2 min) she sings and plays trumpet with some help from her baby...

"The really worst part about being 80 (years old) is that you find, at last you've got an understanding of something that might have altered everything in the past, had it come at a time when something could still be altered."Bob Dylan aka robert zimmerman from a quote in "the week" (6/26/26?) they got it from "the new york times...ain't that always the case!

"The government did not..."

pigeons be happy with cereal in the morning

                                                         is there a window opening?

                                                                 bright sun shiney day

there are bright folks on the C-SPAN station this morning making the same intellectual mis-steps that have been bandered about for...well at least the time of ancient Egypt...they moan about "the iranians", which is a country defined by geographic markers which are well known...the "country" of iran has been around for a few thousand years and is diverse and complex....define your terms...

who is zooming who!..."Feb. 24 1803 Marbury VS Madison= chief justice Marshall declares an act of Congress "NULL AND VOID" when in conflict with constitution= PRINCIPAL OF JUDICIAL REVIEW...from my 50cent book "a chronological encyclopedia of american history-1492-1969

how things have changed...1781 the Pueblo de los Angeles founded in california...

the "coonskin" library founded in Marietta, Ohio when they sent coonskins to Boston, Mass. in exchange for books...i have noted in the history a lot of influence was placed on animal skins...an entire mode of existence was promoted by fur trappers and businessmen...

i have taken note of the increasing number of Youtube presentations which deal with sexual matters of some flavor or another...

a good tune on youtube is "Ain't as good as you once was" a parody? (insult) 3 1/2 minutes by Tania Elizabeth a good tune with good lyrics.....also "An introduction to the North Umbrian small pipes" (4min)@the kathryntickell...she has some other tunes but this presentation explains the construction of this version of bagpipes

"A cursed race.."

DON'T PANIC!...found this concert t-shirt at the thrift for a buck...it is from the "death of  a bachelor" tour don't know what year...i don't really like t-shirts or skulls but i might wear this sometime out of solidarity for the unwed...and good riddance to disco!

i know it is difficult to not panic in these times...however this too shall pass...off to the blood takers this morning after fasting for 8 hours except for black coffee...

have to keep my music brain well supplied every day so i went to "Dippermouth" from the secret six jazz band....always invigorating...then saw the offering "American Dream" from the rainbow girls @rainbowgirlsmusic (5min)...the lyrics would indicate they are looking for "a piece of land"...well OK the nesting instinct is strong in many folks...Emanuela Hutter has a new solo offering called "Goose Bumps"...creative stuff... i would like to see a video offering of these songs

then i looked at "The culture industry"@Plastic Pill which is about the work of adorno/horkheimer and is somewhat slanted but i think "YOUTUBE" is mostly "free range" information and as long as you have an off switch you can't get hurt too bad...

i notice that the two brothers Andrew and Tristan Tate who seem to have got a living as "toxic maleness" personified are being incarcerated...kick boxers huh...i think too many blows to head has messed up their brain function...

I was watching some women crouched and sifting rubble looking for? this was on the BBC news...they had gone to Iran to see the school where more than 150 school girls were blown to smithereens on the first day of the...what are they calling it now...anyhow i noticed the childrens drawings on the walls that were still standing...kids are the same everywhere...can the all mighty USA maybe cough up $150 million (less than a days military expense in Iran) and pay the families of the innocent dead?

"Move along...

a shadow of my former self?...

used to ride hard every day...gathered a lot of aluminum...

now that i am getting my social security ($1014 per month) i give the aluminum to the recycle people...not enough recycle people...

i would like to modify something i wrote about a while back concerning sanctuary immigrants from australia....i think it is the height of stupidity and callousness to reject all persons entry into this or any country without close scrutiny of said persons needs and assets...i think there should be an organized attempt to qualify people based on what they can or might provide to this or any country...it has been my experience that people who are motivated enough to make the effort to try to better their situation usually are productive citizens...

this youtube presentation recommendation should be viewed only by persons who are somewhat solidly positioned psychologically..."The day you realize no one is coming" @jungthoughts (32 min)...statement after statement reveals the lie that most people live leaving them raw and bare and ready for new growth...

febuary 8th 1956...president eisenhower recomends major increase of immigrants from eastern and southern europe...

"The universe isn't random-it's something stranger"(10 min) @the well and 2 more...Stephen Wolfram has some very interesting things to say about life and evolution...

interestingly enough i heard this blog mentioned at the thrift store today...hadn't even published it yet...there is a law about "computer invasion" or some such thing...law and order my ass...had a meeting with my new primary care physician today...he had an "assistant" with him (think policeman)...i was described by the so called security as possibly becoming violent...yeah the 72 year old guy with cancer, COPD and ostero-arthritis poses a real security risk...i am losing faith in the constabulary at all levels...

i have noticed that many people who post things on youtube seem to find it necessary "embelish" the contents of their posts with alarming hyperbole...best!...oldest!...biggest!...etc etc etc...even the science presenters feel they need to hype their work...sooooo...in the spirit of "show biz"...

"Move along...nothing to see here...."

"The world is very complicated..."

a plethora of ironing boards at the thrift store...ironing is become less popular than it was

but i do have an ironing board story from when ironing was much more "required" in polite society...i think i was in the third grade of elementary school...there was a dis-agreement between the household ironer (mama) and the wearer of ironed shirts (daddy)...both of these folks were somewhat disfunctional in their relationship...mama decided she did not want the job of "chief groom" anymore and put the ironing board into the 1956 pontiac with the 4 kids and headed out to her mamas house in michigan...a long way from south louisiana...we almost made it...but the motor burnt up somewhere in indiana...and her mother had to send her husband down to get us...we did not bring the ironing board...this behavior was a precursor to what was to eventually to be diagnosed as manic etc. etc. etc...mental health issues were poorly understood then as now...anyhow, ironed clothes still kind of ruffle me even today...

had to hunker down in a rather populated spot for the last 3 days waiting out the rain...good long life-giving rain...the phone reception was excellent...the neighbor ahead of me was...shall we say...determined...he spent 3 hours describing his life as a...what the hell was he? he said he had to "belly crawl" into north korea to do assasinations and he was good friends with fidel castro and he single-handed his 65 foot choi lee sailboat to a lot of spots...and on and on and on...the last fellow who i encountered in my campsite said he was drafted into the army in 1968 and he showed me a photo of himself with a hat that said ARMY... damn!...he said he had climbed mount kilamonjaro...etc.etc etc...maybe i should take it all with a grain...a very large grain of salt...

i am currently under surveillance due to my being a suspect...i am sure the crimes are serious and far be it from me to make light of such serious crimes...whatever they are...i think Kafka wrote about this situation...police types doing police type undercover type intimidation type stuff...reserved for persons who are suspected of doing criminal stuff...

well besides being a suspect i also watched some intellectually stimulating youtube presentations....one of the better ones is "A society with no purpose beyond money"(45 min) about the philosophy of Max Horkheimer....also "How the language you speak changes how you see the world" (16 min) this is an interview with Lera Buroditsky @ the institute of art and ideas...this woman was born in russia and teaches in san diego now...since she left russia at age 12 she spoke two languages and she explains how this lead to her interest in languages...she wants to learn the language of the indigeonous people of southern california....what with all the computer programing going on now i wonder if the "language' a computer program is written in has any bearing on what it can do...there is an interesting view of "life in russia"in "Typical family apartment tour" (how russians really live) 19 min....

new monkey species in the congo...a colobus species....and "Exploring the alien insects of the amazon river" has some great video of mainly treehoppers...(44min) @all out wildlife...

well according to the weather report on WWOZ radio from New Orleans the heat index will be about 118 degrees during the day...that will kill you...

on sept. 25, 1926 henry ford adopted an 8 hour day and a 5 day week for his factory workers....100 years ago...and in 1946 the supreme court ruled that it was not required for a person who applied for citizenship to swear to a willingness to take up arms...april 22 1946...

"Soul ,take they risk..."

what would this plant be worth on Mars?...nature heals the mind...

getting in the last of my blogger therapy...need more nature therapy now and some guitar plucking therapy and music therapy...watching Dave Mason sing his song"We just disagree"...good medicine...also watched "Everyday People" on Playing for change...these folks have put together some great videos from musicians around the world...also watched Colt Clark and family newest video "Sultans of Swing'...pretty ambitious to try out M. Knoflers guitar but mr cash pulls it off...i predict that Ms. B. will soon start belting out some lyrics...move over and give the girl a chance mr clark....

i looked at another 20 minutes or so of what E.musk et al have to say on twitter...decided lack of variety...so far it seems that all the tasks assigned to AI deal with perfect replicas of roulette tables, driving people to places they may or may not need to go and things that really seem unimportant and even banal...cantaloupes never get mentioned...you can eat cantaloupes....they taste good...the important things in life are alive...a few minutes ago the computer asked me if i was looking for salad recipes...unprompted...is it rude to not respond?...for the first time last week i asked the phone where my appointment with the doctor was..."turn left here into the parking lot"...wrong parking lot!...i have decided the answers are not as important as the questions.

"Livin' easy..."

the top image is from a chapter in a book called "Gone Primative-Savage Intellects, Modern Lives by Marianna Torgovnick....the bottom image is the cover of a dust jacket on the 1955 3rd edition of a book by Sir John Woodroffe "Studies in the Mantra-Shastra
i have seen the "what elon musk said today on X" from yesterday i think...the launch of the space x rocket was aborted at the last seconds...live and learn...one of the major topics...THE major topic! on this site is about artificial intelligence...and the future value of said technology...i came across a small book called "the hidden lives and strange origins of common and not so common words" by Anu Garg...the word GROK is defined as "to understand something thoroughly and intuitively"...and NO! i do not want to subsidize his sisters $10 pickle!...i was listening to a C-SPAN program this morning and there was a caller...an elderly fellow who was in a panic about data centers being built which caused the cattle to have no babies and the birds to quit singing and other devilish things...the single most disturbing thing i am seeing in all of the evaluations of the world and society and everything under the sun is the extent to which people lump everyone together...there are 8 billion people on earth...give or take...and folks have the habit of saying humanity this and humanity that and humanity the other thing...this is especially obvious in political commentary...liberals this and conservatives that and women this and men that and it never ends...humans and human experiences are varied and complex...AND humans have the capacity to change their minds...which brings me to the youtube presentaion "10 ancient drug epidemics which erased entire civilizations"@ health with Henry (50 min) this title is misleading as there were no civilizations which were erased...the last part is especially interesting as it deals with the idea that alcohol consumption drove humans to settle in one spot to brew beer thousands of years before there was agriculture for food consumption...you make up your own mind about whether humanity is driven by the need to get a buzz...also i found a great interview @steveioe... "ER nurse shares her wildest stories"(37 min)...this woman is an emergency room nurse in a hospital on the Mississippi gulf coast...she is young and strong...and recounts how many dumb ass moves people can make to endanger their own lives...it makes me cynical about how much energy is put into saving people who perhaps should not be saved...on "soft white underbelly" there is an interview with a prison psych doctor who obviously has PTSD and she recounts how much time and expense is given to stopping a prisoner who wants to cut off his penis...there are people who can and will reform their behaviors and these should be afforded the opportunity to do so...the rest are using valuable resources which could be better utilized elsewhere...humanity needs to understand the meaning of triage...testosterone is in the news recently...i can speak with some authority on this subject...having had much testosterone and then having little testosterone...i think it would better serve humanity to have more men with less testosterone...especially in prison!...better living through chemistry!...i recently paid off a medical bill after 3 years and asked for an itemized account of said bill and was saddened but not surprised when i saw that i was charged for 6 injections of leuprolide acetate at more than $1000 per injection when i had only been given one injection of this drug...not surprisingly the medical mafia has completely taken over health care and the multi-trillion dollar ripoff continues without anyone in government getting off their lazy overpaid butts to address these scams...
I've been listening to a lot of Rita Payes (trombone and vocals) and Andrea Motis (trumpet and vocals) both from spain and excellent jazz musicians...

"Trust through total transparency.."

ancient tin cup found near campsite...better rusty cup than plastic cup

made my way to the radiology unit to have sinuses imaged...fast efficient and professional...

i must confess to perusing yet another thrift store or two...i have concluded after half a century or more of shopping thrift stores that perhaps my reasoning was a bit flawed...as a small child i used to sit with my siblings looking at a sears catalogue which was between us and play "look what i got!"...seemed pretty harmless at the time...however as most compulsive/addictive behaviors seem to be rooted in some experiences from ones past i imagine that being in a household with a dearth of money and therefore a dearth of possessions established the idea that more stuff was more better...i met a couple of men who as children faced near starvation as children  during WW2...these men were both quite fat due to the uncontrolable urge to eat...however if you are interested in compulsive behavior modification HubermanLab has a great youtube presentation "the treatment of obsessive compulsive disorder" (OCD)(32min)...

where was i?...oh yes i have decided that "collecting" only exacerbates my OCD tendencies so i have determined that the only thing worth "collecting" is ideas...it has been said (i think in buddhism) that the only thing a person owns is their "deeds"...whoa buddy!...that's a lot of heavy lifting...i did pick up a very nice pair of Steiner 12X40 binoculars for $10 at the thrift today but not for collecting...

ok lets get down to the "nut cuttin'"...i often read "what elon musk said today on twitter" which is very revealing...i like Mr. Musk but i think his evaluation of certain aspects of his relationship to the environment is flawed...he suffers from "nature deficit disorder"...and going into space will probably make it much much worse...throughout the history of humanity Homo sapians et. al. have oriented themselves by comparison to the nature that surrounded them...more and more of humanity have less and less nature to relate to...i think this makes humans too "machine-like"...but i spent so much time in the zoo business i became imbued with a respect, even a reverence for nature...BUT i came to realize that the animals i encountered in the zoos were separated from the environment in which they evolved...therefore they were other than what their species had evolved into over many millions of years...soooo for someone to say that more people is more better strikes me as being oblivious to the inevitable result...which is more people equals less nature...and more "machines"....now i am only a wheelbarrow and shovel guy...but my orientation to the planet on which i live includes all the plants, animals and "undecided" entities. i do however applaude the musk ethos that self driving vehicles would  make humans lives better...perhaps there will be an opportunity to obtain a musk financed used EV...recycle or die Elon!...

"I've watched the summer evening pass by..."

birthday morning...72 years behind me...one day at a time ahead of me

the mon-sooner or later has been a bit less than generous with the precipitation...

i am not a person who feels that "the public" has any right or expectation to be protected from the truth...this youtube presentation is pretty abrupt...."North America is Heating Up"@ Climate Emergency Forum (30 min)...

had to move due to road construction which is soon to begin...the spot i moved to is the same place where i found the yellow ants and the orange fox...not a bad spot but a steady stream of vehicles is often present..

the first day several raucus  ravens came to see me and i think it was the family i befriended a couple of years ago... truly lovely creatures...

the reception on the phone was pretty intermittant so i watched some of the movies i have on a mini-SD...and read some articles in my periodicals...

i was pleased that my "aroma" (stink) became apparent to me after several months of no olfactory awareness...perhaps it was the prednisone which made my smell ability re-appear...i also experienced extreme headaches for reasons un-known...i decided it might be my water supply as some of the water in my gallon jugs was several months old...i trashed the old bottles and bought new water for $1.37 a gallon...i have not had headaches since i changed my water source...

as i try to look objectively at my life i realize that an insurance actuarial table can accurately predict my longevity...never imagined myself at 72 years...life is good...but not forever...

"I've watched the summer evening pass by                                           I've heard the rattle in my bronchi                                                        Someday I'll have a disappearing hairline                                               Someday I'll wear pajamas in the daytime...                                            from Crash test dummies song"Afternoons and Coffeespoons"

"When you deal with irrational animals..."

even the least of these seeks a drink of refreshing water

i'm gonna be negative now, so as to get it out of my system before it poisons my mind...as i sit here watching "journalist discuss shifting media impact on black communities" it occurs to me that there is not "white" people represented...durn their scurvy white butts...as soon as i heard the ghost of Emmit Till i knew it was going to be a "black blather fest" when one of the participants brought up how her ancestors was snatched up from mother africa and brought to the new world in chains it occured to me that the black african tribal chiefs who enriched themselves by selling other blacks into slavery never get brought up...there are some very good youtube presentations about the genetic makeup of about every human population...the so called "black irish" it seems have a different genotype than the red heads..humans all the way back to denisovans and neanderthals have genetic markers which the rapidly growing field of genetics is analysing...sorry no reparations coming from them either...if you spend too much time walking backwards you are going so stumble...i am aware of an increasing amount of "radicalized" views on the internet...from every spectrum of society...as resources become smaller and the population of humans becomes larger the rationalization for extreme responces will increase....the example of the entire globe changing when the covid pandemic was at its height should be an example of how humans have it in their power to save themselves...but instead we have resigned ourselves to playing games and destroying the atmosphere in the process....how many sporting events were played and how many people attended them in the last year?...oh well...

"When you deal with irrational animals, with things and circumstances, be generous and straightforward. You are rational and they are not. When you deal with fellow human beings, behave as one. They share in the LOGOS. And invoke the gods regardless.          Don't worry about how long you will go on doing this.                           A single afternoon would be enough.    MARCUS AURELIUS

"NIGHTMARES..."

image above is a kaibab squirrel drinking from the water pan
4th of july and the USA is solid as a rock...top image is of a fresh fungi growth on top of pine stump
sooo...had to come into town for more medical "consultation"...the forest was very nice and since i put out the water pan, which is actually a "charger" or large serving tray...4 bucks at the thrift and made of thick stainless steel with brass handles at both ends...only an inch deep so the small birds love it...a couple of least chipmunks also sipped from it several times a day...with the air temperature being much higher than in the past the creatures are going to need some help...i forget if the chipmunks here estivate when the temps get this high...going to get hotter than this!
i looked up the 3 people who died in the Snyder fire on the colorado/utah border...i almost burst into tears when i saw these very young people...EMILY BARKER...SYDNEY WATSON...NICK HUTCHERSON...HEROS!....a told a couple of federals that people who start forest fires should be shot on sight...enough of that...
some of the better youtube i watched lately is "Anthony Kaldellis-Roman Empire etc..."(4 hours)...lex fridman podcast #498...Dr. Fridmans' genius is in asking brilliant questions...of course it is inevitable that one attempts to see if the trials and tribulations of past cultures are indications of what the present situation might have in store ...i think that the technological developments of today make society differently poised to act and react...however human nature has not changed...and Dr, Andrew Huberman has a good interview with Ido Portal who is a philosophical body dynamics expert "Movement practice to strengthen your body-mind connection"(3 hours)...Dr, Huberman brings up his participation in skateboarding in his younger days and how adept some of the practitioners of this fairly new sport are.   But i have to get my daily dose of laughter so i watched "Fern Brady" an Irish woman with a...rather harsh view of life...but funny...i also thought i might sign up with a dating service so i have been watching "Smack The Pony dating Agency" to get some tips (or not)...since i feel better when things are being improved rather than being made worse i like to watch Cobbler G (mr Gibson) whose latest challenge is a pair of boots infested with spider webs and various insect carcasses...one of of of the things i marvel at is how resilient leather is...this cobbler with an an attitude takes an ancient craft to new levels...also i always watch  the latest "Girl with Dogs" who has groomed a lot of cats recently...to watch this lady with endless compassion take a dog covered with matted hair and transform it into a regal beast once again brings joy to my heart...also i was impressed with Ms 'Itchy Boots" recovery from near disaster when her Yamaha motorcycle was close to being washed away in a river in Mongolia...(season 8 episode 139)..this woman is tough!...i always save "Little Chinese Everywhere" with Yan for sunday morning when i have my mug of coffee and pastry while i watch this ladies travels...she has bought a new drone which she flies with a VR headset...nice work...and since socialism has been in the news much lately i looked up some explanations about this  form of government.."Social Democracy VS Democratic Socialism explained easy" (4min)...the problem with this and most political discussions is that politics like religions are  very fluid concepts and practices...they do not exist in a pure state...and i look at music videos in the evening before i slumber (usually between 8 an 9 pm)...BOPFLIX has a thousand videos to peruse...
