went into the thrift store today
the sketch pad i wanted was gone
the bike i considered was gone
i went to the massive book section
loads of books
i have lots of books
but there was one i needed
i just did not know what it was
i kneeled down on the floor
and looked at the bottom shelf
on the very end
right there
first time
was the book i wanted
synchronicity- an acausal connecting principle
carl g jung
translated by r f c hull
50 cents
read this once years ago
need to read it again
still under close
very close scrutiny
the thought police have been
very hard at work
lots of stuff in my
file now
one fellow recently told me
my file goes back to
eighth grade
yeah i was a real tough cookie
whatever
my life has been
shall we say
negatively affected
by what one person called
bad police work
by bad police i might add
and i am a big supporter of
competent
honest
police
where ever they might be
but
unfortunately there is a massive
operation in the making which utilizes
"...the use of untested freelance informants
recruited under threat of prosecution."
i listened to a bbc storey a few days ago
about the chinese
re-education camps
for people who
complain
i suppose
the stalking poisoning harassment
is to
re-educate me
perhaps
well it is certainly
educating me
if not re-educating me
"One did not need to have a timid and fearful nature
to be easily persuaded that the completion of this
plea was a sheer impossibility.
Not because of laziness or constructive malice,
which could only affect the advocate,
but because to meet an unknown accusation,
not to mention other possible charges arising
out of it the whole of ones life would have to
be passed in review, down to the smallest
actions and accidents, clearly formulated
and examined from every angle."

got to keep the colored people off my back
world gone crazy
snakes teeth

dog tongues

what the hell is going on
hand jive
leg jive
foot jive
bobble heads
jung called them
psychic epidemics
i call them
ignorant
look i have an american passport
born in this here part of the geography
not a space alien
honest
ignorance is all the rage
heard a cop say that the kids
in chicago all had to be in a gang
just has to be that way he said
but lots of those kids are being
murdered
no
you do not have to be in
anything
not a color
not a number
not an animal totem
nothing
and anyone who says you do
in this country
is lying to you
to hell with them
they are impinging on your rights
as an american
on your freedom of choice
to not belong
do not give up your freedom
without a fight
fashion is not fashionable
freedom is fashionable
"Without depth of thought, or earnestness of feeling,
or strength of purpose, living an unreal life, sacrificing

"To despise the animal..."
Copyright Bootlegcircus@blogspot.com
listened to a report by a fellow
on the radio sunday evening
he talked about corruption
in louisiana
lots of corruption according to him
mainly folks in elected office
trying to augment their income
that sort of thing
probably part of the
highly esteemed
tradition i keep hearing about
several billion bucks
is missing from the money sent
to fight
the wars
not much said about that
though
probably part of the highly
regarded tradition
some more
lots of the money comes back to this
country to start
companies and corporations
which get a lot of government
contracts
go figure
i went out on several jobs last week
making that gulag wage of 7 dollars
and twenty five cents an hour
one job was for some guys who
were doing some building in a city park
the supervisor wore a usmc sticker
on his hardhat
at the end of the work day we chatted
about his security work in the middle east
he said he was making two thousand bucks
a day
he said he hated all of africa
said it was all corrupt
i told him the rhinos elephants and gorillas
in africa
were being poached into extinction
i asked him if he would go back to
africa to help train the wildlife conservationists
to protect the wildlife
he asked how much that paid
i said it did not pay anything
it was volunteer work
i think he thought i was crazy
i went to another job which was ending
and the construction foreman just spent
nearly three years building a casino
a pretty nice casino
as casinos go
i suppose
i always get asked the question
why in the hell dont you get a real
job
i dont know what that means exactly
whats more real than helping to build
a casino
really
so i was wondering about what people
will tell their grand children when
they ask
grand pa did you ever see a rhino
or an elephant
or a gorilla
before they went extinct
i spent several years as an animal
keeper and i cared for three
square lipped rhinos
mondo hitari and wagasa
lovely animals
sublimely so
when they moved the two females
to a new exhibit
the male
mr mondo
whined like a puppy
until they were reunited
i was profoundly shocked
i thought these animals were
not very emotional
but they are
and very much in need of saving
everyone should be a zookeeper
at one time of their life
or another
it will likely change how one
views the lives of our fellow
inhabitants on this planet

to seek value only at the level of
conscious intelligence and rational
effort, is ultimately to lose one's

"In the light of eternity..."
copyright bootlegcircus@blogspot.com
christmas day looking south
spent 12 days of christmas camped
near the levee
enjoyed most of it
weather very dynamic
expecting tornado's
they were spotted all around me
but never occurred close enough
to do more than make me contemplate
my mortality
thats a good thing
listened to the news on the
radio a lot
some news overwhelmingly sad
and i had to turn to reading
i had happened to pick up a book
a few months ago which i was reading
"Bad men do what good men dream"
by r j simon a forensic psychologist
very informative book
the author states that we all have
the potential to do extreme evil
we have to practice not doing it
berserkers have been around for
a long time and before guns they
bashed heads with clubs
i came across the term
aesthetic distance
in the book i read
"Death and Money in the afternoon"
about the history of bullfighting in spain
the term refers to the sense that what
is happening on stage is not happening
to you
i have noticed that this notion seems
to be increasingly absent in our society
i dont watch much television around
camp
none at all actually
i listen to radio programs
i look at a lot of
outside
trees and birds and raccoons and such
keeps me kind of centered
yesterday i watched 90 minutes
of television while in the health club
90 minutes
i got dragged through the cesspool
of life
dead non existent girlfriends
hostages
weapons dilemmas
economic collapse
dietary dilemmas
and on and on and on
the only problems i have
camping is
when i run out of food or water
then i have to go to town
sometimes i catch rainwater
and sometimes i pick wild fruit
which helps a lot
"Really to see the sun rise or go down
every day, so to relate ourselves to a
universal fact, would preserve us sane
forever." H. D. Thoreau
i have some recommendations
i listened to an interview on
wwno radio program called
inside out with alan tousaint
which is well worth looking up
and i heard this fellow named
catfish keith on taylor cafferys
hootnany power music show
and i looked him up on utube
excellent guitar and vocals
he says he was influenced by a fellow
named joseph pence
i came across sonny boy williamson
singing nine degrees below zero
and playing the harmonica
this is the gold standard of blues
and a while back i bought a copy
of the 1932 movie rain directed by
lewis milestone with joan crawford
i was very impressed
"In the light of eternity we shall see
that what we desired would have
been fatal to us, and that we would
have avoided was essential to our
well-being." Fenelon

"Money does all things...
copyright bootlegcircus@blogspot.com
i would like to make a
confession
as i am writing this the stock market
is taking a dive
billions lost
and i feel good about it
like the republican
candidate for the highest
office in the land
i too think that there
are some people
who are seeking financial
gain where none
should be had
having worked for minimal
wages for most of my life
i have not had the opportunity to invest
in any businesses except by sweat
equity and the only return that
i got for my investment is
sweaty clothes
i've mostly built
pyramids
i think
i heard yesterday that a major
bulldozer company is losing
business
that means that perhaps
trees are getting safer
perhaps
some people believe that
all of the planet is a natural
resource
to be exploited
and that any constraints on that
exploitation is a constraint
on their
liberty
"Liscense they mean,
when they cry liberty."
Milton
the same company makes
ship engines
and
i have spoken with ships
engineers who insist
that they make the
best engines on the water
expensive
but superior
and
american
i invested my time today
in bicycle
and guitar
and nature
i reaped
profit
immediately
my attempt to post this
blog from the state library
was thwarted
but i have
persevered
the snake in the picture was my
desert camping neighbor
for several
days
every morning resting in the same
spot until the sun warmed her
enough that she could
wander away to do her
daily chores
and returning
every night

"Faith is a fine invention...
dont be alarmed
work today
such as it has become
is going to be for me
and not to further the
interests of some
third party
being busy as a bee
is good for bees
my work place has become
subject to some rather unusual
hazards
barbiturates in the water cooler
yikes
not to mention the relentless
harassment
on the job
a few weeks ago
there was heart pain inducing drugs
in the water cooler
pretty sad affair
after going to the
federal bureau of investigation
three times
and the
united states attorneys office
i have pretty much given up on
getting any help from
corrupted government
as lennie bruce said about
chicago
the extent of the corruption
is breathtaking
this seems especially so in
slap stick village
from the top of the
federal justice department
to the bottom of the
local law enforcement
complete corruption
this is not a nice place to
visit
or to live
i had the opportunity to
listen to descriptions of my
yesterdays evenings activities
today as the
criminals with badges have
seen fit to publish my
activities to the world
it is highly illegal
but they hardly bat an eye
at their own crimes
"Voyeurism is a sex crime, and if convicted, a person can be charged with either a misdemeanor or felony offense. Either way, the suspect can be forced to go to jail, pay fines, attend court-ordered counseling, and be placed on probation. Furthermore, a person convicted of voyeurism could be made to register as a sex offender."
i woule like to see
these voyeurs into my room
be listed as
registered sex offenders
which is what they are
so this is the world in which
i am forced to live
victimized by corrupted
government workers
who are actually what they
say they are against
typical louisiana
i suppose if i am going
to be held up to scrutiny
by a community
and my life is going to be
destroyed by incompetent
cowardly corrupted
persons
i may as well take the time
to put the lens on
the perpetrators of
crimes against me
as it takes some of the
sting out of the
injustice
"Faith is a fine invention
When Gentlemen can see-
But Microscopes are prudent
In an Emergency.
Emily Dickenson
this legal circus is
beginning to stink
