                      this female rodent was on my engine block and had already snapped two mouse traps

 there were several butterflies on the iris blooms but this one was well hidden o the pine needles...a prong-tailed butterfly which i have not keyed out yet...

last friday as i sat in the truck i saw what i thought was a short fat black cow but it was a black bear...and not a small one...too far away for the lens i had on the camera...there were several black bear stories in the local news this week...a young black bear entered a dwelling and chewed on a 14 year old boy...14 year old boys have that effect on on folks sometimes...there was also a bear which "taken into custody" according to a news story (immobilized and transported)  but this bear got out of the transport cage and went into a neighborhood and they had to kill it...this morning i heard the woman who is head of louisiana wildlife and fisheries say that they finally have enough black bears in louisiana that they are going to allow hunting them again...i think they should introduce jaguars back into louisiana (last one was sighted back around 1910 or so) a few jaguar will make the hunters more alert...or dead...

36 truckloads of groceries delivered before the $320 million dollar pier broke...

 i watched this interview with ATF director steven dettlebach (5/23/24 -8:52 ) in front of a house judiciary committee concerning the shooting to death of the head of the little rock arkansas airport in his home and i was nauseated buy the incompetence of those persons who undertook this fiasco...it seems like a george floyd incident to me...

i read about a guy named william cobbett (1763-1835) who lived in england and was in the military and tried to have his superiors charged with embezzlement...he had to flee to france and then USA...his contribution to humanity was that he spoke up for peasants and the poor in general and tried to have flogging stopped in the military...also he disagreed with anonymous editorials in the local papers and began a daily written account of the parliament...there is a good short documentary on youtube about his life...he was not all sweetness and light...but did some good stuff...or tried to...

i was thinking about buying a handgun..i watched Dr.Bones interview with FBI agent Booth to get a handgun permit and when asked why she wanted a gun she said "To shoot people"...yep that's the idea. she was denied that permit...too damned bad (this TV series is much better without commercials...as are all of them...which is why i keep buying them on DVD)

i have never posted any images of me playing guitar but my memory sticks etc. have been purloined and therefore i suspect there are images and videos that i made which have been posted by others...oh, well...this is my lovely orlando rescued guitar...no model number by i really like this instrument and she sounds nice to me...the $40 cost was minimal and i had to do some repair work on her...gluing braces etc. i read an interview with johnny winter once and he was asked when he first started to play guitar...he said at age 12...then he was asked when he made his first recording for a record and he said two years later...sort of made me want to quit guitar...i started at age 58...but i like guitars and i persevere...for my own enjoyment...

there seems to be an increased amount of  "conflict"  around the world in the news these days...i would like to go on record as not being in conflict with any of the peoples of the planet and do not want to be included in any governments resources to engage in lethal confrontation....that is to say i do not hate Chinese or Russian or Iranian etc etc etc people, but i realize that governments and military's see themselves as needing to "engage" others for the purpose of promoting....what i am not sure... 

anyhow i do believe that there are people who seek to do others harm other and i appreciate those people that they put themselves in harms way to stop this ...i just hope that the cure is not worse than the disease...

  since i am quick to criticize poor risk to reward decisions made by others i decided to get the hell out of  harms way...i packed up  and went into town and rented a room...i discussed with several federal forestry workers the fate of all the life forms that get burned up and the consequences of these "prescribed" burns on the ecosystem...not enough is done to promote the regrowth of the charismatic micro-fauna...the bugs...

i watched the legislative cat fight between the black the brown and the blond female legislators and it seems to me that this encounter did not facilitate any legislative duties being achieved...i find that if i keep a list of things i need to do i am more productive in my daily chores...legislators get paid too well to squander the time and money being allocated to them...minimum wage is still $7.25...  if they can not find anything else to apply their talents to this attrocity is something that needs urgent attention....PLEASE!,,,

i see where the term "lawfare" has become popular to describe the multitude of legal charges which are being brought against various people... especially the former president....it seems to me that this country should be proud of the fact that legal challenges are confronted by legal means rather than the use of force...usually....

the international criminal court has decided to issue arrest warrants for people in israel and palistine...i looked up how many people died when the USA  bombed cambodia during the vietnam war...more than one hundred thousand citizens died according to the internet search...and it said that a bomb fell on Laos every nine seconds for seven years....wow...anyhow humans are certainly willing to whack the hell out of each other regardless of any social or religious or governmental considerations (or financial)....i also was amazed to read recently that 80 percent of all the doughnut shops in california are owned by cambodian/american citizens...this seems to be a usual occurrence that so many people who have lived in countries that USA has engaged in military actions against pack up and come to the USA...to be prosperous...

i read where K. Harris was reported to tell some girls that if they found the "doors of opportunity" to be locked to them they should "kick the fucking door down"....proper emphasis on an important issue i suppose...we can call it the "swift" effect...

so the question i have is...are the spiders species specific co-inhabitants of the ants...is the relationship symbiotic or parasitic or what...are the ants divided into different species or is there dimorphism in the species... 

according to the Sapir-Worff theory a persons understanding of reality is determined by there understanding of language...sooo...when i read in my various volumes of dictionaries my understanding of the world should change as my vocabulary is changed...AND IT DOES!...

i was thinking about anthony bourdains death by suicide and it occurred to me that as a person in addiction recovery he seemed to be pretty fast and loose with his use of intoxicants...pot in Uruguay...booze everywhere...all addictive substances...i think if he had got sober and stayed sober he could have dealt with the trauma of a relationship gone sour...or not...it has not escaped my notice that a  hell of a lot of human so-called artistic endeavors deal with human relationships...like that is all there is...

i read a good article by Sam Wang associate professor of  neuroscience at Princeton in the march 2009 magazine "Discover" about will power...he says "you can actually build up willpower like a muscle if you can do something that requires effort of will...like brushing your teeth with your non-dominant hand...you can build up whatever is responsible for willpower. (they are still not sure what that is)

saw a rather terrifying ad for a "Complete Control" sphincterotome which brought back memories of my own encounter with anus ordeals...you lay on your side and they spray freezing stuff from an aerosol can onto your butthole and then they inject all around your butthole to numb it even more then they go in with a scope so they can see what they are doing then they inject the substance between your prostate and the colon (i think) and then when they radiate your prostate the colon won't be fried too...all things considered it was a success...they offered me a strong pain killer and some valium but i refused them as i am a recovering addict...better to have a little pain than deal with addiction possibilities...

 i came out of the truck and saw a squirrel with a mouse trap on its leg...i threw a towel on it and removed the trap and it scurried up a tree...i found it the next day curled next to my propane cook stove inside the sheet metal cylinder i use to stop the wind,,,i wanted to cry...but i did not ..and now put up the mouse traps until night time...caught two mice last night...the raven loves the mice...i hope he finds the squirrel too...

i listened to some good music last week...upon perusing the T. Swift recent offering i heard some good percussion on a track with "Florence(welch)and the Machine"...so i looked up this musical group...came across a tune called "Which Witch" which i was very impressed with...the bass drums and the vocals make this tune seem more like an incantation...i also came across a list of best albums for 2023 in "The Economist" magazine...one of the suggestions was Roisin Murphy...pretty good stuff...i went to all of the offerings...about a dozen...mostly females and i was struck by the extent to which these women embrace "THRENODY"...(look it up)...i also saw a utube offering of neil young who played in san diego  last week and someone bootlegged it...the old man still has the vocal and guitar chops...and much to my delight he was dressed in his very down to earth clothes...does my heart good to see no pretense
