as usual much lamentation and gnashing of teeth...not me however...i cut back on the caffeine...but at the laundry a woman complained about me...i think she said i said something "unseemly"...i never said she was a fat toad and a bad mother which would have been the truth nor did i say anything else...i always recommend that any complaints be written down and signed by the complainer as the law stipulates that there shall be no anonymous complainers...this never happens however...then i went to the medical facility and a pleasant woman brought me a package with my cancer meds...while she was explaining to me how the anti diarrhea meds worked (this was a surprise to me) she knocked my notebook and pen off the arm of my chair onto her chair...i picked up the notebook but she was nearly sitting on the pen so i had to dig it out...now she has complained that i am a pervert because i was fondling her butt...yeah the guy with no dick is interested in her butt... and so goes my life in this world...but i managed to pick up 14 good magazines for a quarter each( ...several "new yorkers" and some "SCIENCE" mags...the science mags sell for 14 bucks!)
the news is going a mile a minute what with the bellicose Israelis whoopin' on everyone ("What is the reality of Jewish Genetic Origins" about 15 minutes long is a great look at who the Jews are) and the ruskies and the Ukrainians still whacking anyone who gets in the way of their drones...there is some good youtube about drones in warfare...but do not fret as a couple of the best and brightest artificial intelligence experts are saying that there will be a rogue computer that will "KILL US ALL"...and very soon...check out "Dangers of Super-intelligent AI" (2 hours and 15 minutes) in an interview with ROMAN YAMPOLSKY and Lex Fridman...he also interviews ELIEZER YUDKOWSKY about the same subject...this guy insists that the computers are going to kill us all AND SOON!...you know i think these alarmists are missing something in their calculations...on the oil rigs there is usually a 'BLOWOUT PREVENTER"...maybe someone can get one of these bright folks to come up with a way not to be killed off by the computers..."I can't do that Dave"....one of the more interesting people Dr. Fridman interviewed was Dr. Neri Oxman who was a tenured professor at MIT until she quit to go to new york to start her own business...she used 17,532 silkworms to spin some large sculptures...she said it takes 1000 cocoons to make a silk shirt...which she seemed to think was un-ethical or something...i was having tea with a young woman in my yard back in around 1974 when i brought out a jar of honey for the tea...she told me that i had "raped the bees" to get that honey...now i was an avid meditater and did yoga every day and was on a strict non-meat non dairy diet...so the notion that i had abused the bees was a bit much for me... three days later i was eating steaks and sausage and ice cream every day on the oil rig i was working on...Dr. Oxman recommended a very good documentary film which is on youtube called "particle fever"(1:40)...this is a well filmed account of the large hadron collider in europe and how it got built and used to determine the weight of the Higgs Boson...i usually do not see much human endeavor which seems more constructive than destructive...this was an amazing achievement...a five story tall, 17 mile long machine built with the precision of a swiss watch...and 20 years later it was used and improved...an excellent episode of "little chinese everywhere" #124 is about africans living and working in canton, china...the amount of commerce taking place is enormous...of course they would have been unable to achieve as much in this country as we now have a fairly strict policy to exclude "the other" ...i hope the fed and the state law enforcement can keep the lid on the protests while still doing their legal obligation to remove non-citizens...ii heard on the BBC news that there are 1.6 million undocumented people in california... guess i can pick my own fruit and vegetable etc. etc etc...
saw some good music this week...if sophistication is your thing "Solitude" by andrea motis and joan chamorro being backed up by a sinfonica del valles (5 min) is quite good...if sophistication is not at the top of your list MFC Chicken has a hillarious song called "fuck you, me" which seems to be for schizophrenic self loathers...i warn you that this is a very potent ear worm and you might find yourself humming it all day long...
