same ol' same ol'...round midnight the person upstairs began the noise...this is the quality inn in flagstaff arizona...i have never stayed here without being harassed...i asked the indian (this is important) girl if she could promise me a quiet room...number 108 is not that room...and i have been in this room 4 times now!...this place was sold recently apparently to the MOB!...the person/people who are on the payroll to keep organized crime in check are worse than useless...and the new management is as mob oriented as the last management...there are no rooms in flagstaff that i know of that are not indian owned (this is important)...they keep a list which they share with all the indian owned motels, hotels etc...if you get marked as a troublemaker you will get a lot of harassment...the place where i usually stay said they only had rooms with two beds and the price was 30% higher...business is business but bad business and dirty business is to be discouraged...and there seems to be a surge in dirty business in this town/county/state/country...lets move on
i decided to get some schooling in artificial intelligence...there are some pretty good tutorials on the subject..."7 AI terms you need to know" (11min) @IBM technology..."mixture of experts", "model context protocol"...sound familiar...if not you might consider making yourself conversant on the subject...or at least familiar...i remember 40 years ago i used to snicker at the notion that computers were the future and i saw no use for them in zookeeping...then i was asking about a breeding program for endangered species and i was told that the math was complex in trying to figure out which animals would yield the most viable offspring in breeding programs (siberian tigers etc etc etc) so indeed computers were needed to have successful breeding programs...and now i own several laptops and i realized my understanding of A I was scant at best...it was quite an eye-opener to read even in its most primative form what is involved with using Artificial Intelligence...make yourself familiar with this nascent subject so you can make informed decisions... and i assume that any "KILL SWITCH" can be thwarted so we best deal with very well informed machines being naughty (disinterested malevolence) ...of a little less complex subject the way primative oil business has got us by the short hairs..."the seizure of Bab el-mandel" @what's going in in shipping" with Sal Marcogliano who is a shipping expert explains the complexities of all shipping and especially in this explosive region and how it effects the price of fuel at the pump...so i figured there might be a couple of electric farm tractors...there are dozens...they are not slaves to diesel fuel so they might be an alternative...even john deere has some electrics...help us out here Elon!...lets pivot to juicier subjects...i began to watch "How male fantasies fuel AI" by Dr. Mary Anne Franks @ university of mary washington...this seemed like a provocative subject but the audio was poor and maybe they can put in subtitles...and "Diogenes-the most eccentric philosopher" @biographics with simon whistler...this is a great review of the life and beliefs of a real radical thinker...i was alarmed at how much of this guys life i agreed with...also i listened to some very stimulating interviews with william buckley jr on "firing line"...his interview with jerry brown was very good and his interview with F.Lee Baily made me realize how articulate lawyers can be...mr Baily mentioned that he had gotten guilty people found innocent and innocent people found guilty...you pays your money and you takes your chances...there are lots of firing line interviews to choose from..."searching for floridas sugarcane-to-sugar process and giant sugar mills" TOPdiscovery (24min)..."Shoeing Rocco the Clydesdale is a BIG job"@ forfarriersbyfarriers(30min) this is a great view of a profession which was in every town and village for thousands of years...and it is important that we know of "Why Nancy Grace Roman telescope is about to change everything @Anton Petrov (16min)...the best telescope ever put in space... Colin Hay (men at work) at the santa cruz 40th anniversary concert (10min) this is a great musician and very funny...
