not everything was positive this week, or last week or for ever now that i think about it...i read a thought provoking bit of information last week on a site that posts "everything elon musk posted on twitter" today...this site "Jacob and Isacc" divides the tweets into several categories...on 9/1/26 there was a head turning post by "Brivael Le Pogan" which was a somewhat lengthy but lucid post about how the character of the state/nation/globe is being changed by forces from the inside...amazingly enough this post recounts how none other than senator joseph r mccarthy exposed how what he called "communists" had infiltrated all of government. well he was not scrupulous in his investigations and was called out on his rampant (rabid) denunciations of many publicly elected officials and employees. but neither was he wrong...however they killed the messenger and the infiltration has continued...i can say without fear of contradiction that employees of the libraries are hand picked and also the post-offices...if i was going to run for office i would try to find a more secure way to gather votes than by mail...
i read a very good article in the 12/1/25 New Yorker magazine entitled "The Big Ice is Sick' by ben taub with photos by ragnar axelsson...great photographer...very depressing information from greenland..."greenland is the largest island in the world. it is three times the size of texas. there are less than 57 thousand people living there"...this story is mainly about the people who hunt polar bears and how there are now not many polar bears to hunt....and the ones that are there are so imbued with toxins that it was determined that no more than ten grams of polar bear meat per week would be safe to consume...about the size of a grape!...serious bummer!...so anyhow, in a place that has such a low human population density you would think the environment would be pristine...so what this illustrates to me is that humans live on a globe and all parts of the globe are connected...for better or for worse...can't catch a ride with elon as his spots are all spoken for...might as well tough it out here...on a little more up-beat note i watched "Deep-Sea biodiversity on Mcdonnel seamount" from "nautilus live" (6min)...this few thousand meter dive shows how much life there is in the sea...hats off to these researchers...i did see a video a while back of a plastic garbage bag in the deepest trench in any ocean...serious bummer!...i found a very good video which illustrates what happened in nepal "What really happened during the 2026 nepal disaster" @anton petrov...mr petrov has used some great footage of the flood/slide event and points out that the higher air temperatures caused the ice to weaken and the rocks and ice slide in great volume down 50 or 60 miles of canyons and ravine at speeds exceeding a hundred miles per hour...he also studied the status of similar terrain and presents at least four places where similar disasters might occur...so don't go in the mountains, don't go near the volcanos, don't go by the ocean and the forests might burn up also...hello elon got a spare chair?!...anyhow the big news in europe is that the AfD political party in germany won an election...this means they get a sayso in government..."Will AfD take over germany?"@ UnHerd (36min) is a well presented and informative account of who and what AfD is...when all was said and done these pundits said what this party wants is to stop immigration...well that view has been around for at least 4 or 5 million years...those hunter gatherers got a lot of heat from those lifestock people...and here we are 4 or 5 million years later and 7 and a half billion more people and it must be addressed...less resources and more people can't be a good thing...lets not think about it...i dragged up some older interviews from "Firing Line with William F. Buckley Jr." and thought that his interview with milton friedman was good as well as his interview with Madlyn Mura Ohare (atheist) and the Warren report interview was eye opening and i thought his interview with Hugh Hefner was good but best if only listened to because hugh is a strange looking guy...and i came across some good music in Pomplamoose "oh pretty woman" with the rainbow girls singing...what do you call that....ooooh, waaaa. etc....and there is a steller performance on the ball-point pen which should be noted...and Jazz Mexicano 1 hora de jazz @jazz world essentials is very nice...and i was very enthusiastic about Lukas Nelsons presentation of a tune/philosophy entitled "Dont loose your mind" (6:48) @ mr johnherring
